The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX Supertruck Looks Like a Supersized Hot Wheels Truck
- The Ram 1500 TRX, appearing at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show, returns to the lineup as the 1500 SRT TRX.
- You can’t get it with a manual, but the 1500 SRT TRX does bring the return of the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, which now packs 777 horsepower.
- Will appear at Ram dealers in the second half of 2026
The Ram 1500 TRX supertruck returns to the Ram lineup for the 2027 model year and is now part of the SRT performance division, a group that previously stuffed a V-10 engine in a Dodge Ram pickup a few decades ago — with a manual transmission, no less.

Well, you can’t get the new SRT TRX with a manual, but it does bring about the return of the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, which now packs 777 horsepower. That’s 75 hp more than the previous TRX thanks in part to a dual-path induction system that’s 18% more effective than before.

The Same Aggressive Attitude as Before
The new SRT TRX still exhibits the same aggressive attitude of the original with its high stance, bulging fender flares and functional hood scoop. The truck has 11.8 inches of ground clearance, and compared with a Ram 1500 Rebel, it rides 2 inches higher and is 6 inches wider. There are also steel front and rear bumpers, as well as a dinosaur-head badge on the tailgate.
The truck on the floor of the 2026 Detroit Auto Show was a Bloodshot Night Edition. The somewhat gruesomely named variant gets extra appearance-focused cues including Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat on the upper part of the truck, a Flame Red hood stripe, splash-style graphics on the sides, red-outline TRX badging, carbon-fiber interior trim with red detailing, and a glass-encased TRX center console badge. Already an extreme-looking truck in standard form, the Bloodshot Night Edition amplifies the look even more.
The SRT TRX is first and foremost a performance truck, but it’s also something of an undercover luxury pickup. Inside, there’s a leather-wrapped dash and massaging front seats — perfect for recovering from big desert jumps. Ram already offers some of the nicer interiors in the full-size truck class, and that emphasis on interior quality carries over to the SRT TRX. It’s a premium interior that feels nice enough for the truck’s price.
Speaking of price, the SRT TRX starts at nearly $103,000 including destination. It’s not cheap, but it is nearly $11,000 less than its primary competitor: the Ford F-150 Raptor R. If this looks like your kind of rig, you’ll be able to check it out for yourself at a Ram dealership in the second half of 2026.
