See Every Photo We Took of the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker's Interior
What Car Shoppers Need to Know
- Trailseeker is a stretched version of the Subaru Solterra electric vehicle
- Twin to the Toyota bZ Woodland
- Longer body does not mean more rear-seat room but does expand cargo hold
With a redesigned Solterra and the new Trailseeker and Uncharted bowing within months of each other, 2026 is a big year for Subaru’s EV lineup. Only the Uncharted is truly all-new, as the Trailseeker is basically a Solterra stretched by 6 inches — and with 375 horsepower. The Trailseeker’s standard dual-motor powertrain bests the Solterra’s optional high-output setup by 37 hp; its claimed 4.4-second 0-60 mph sprint makes it the quickest Subaru ever sold in the U.S. Buyers pay only a minimal range penalty for the added power, as the Trailseeker’s maximum of 281 miles (manufacturer-estimated) trails the Solterra’s EPA-rated 288 miles.

But the two electric SUVs’ wheelbases are an identical 112.2 inches, so the Trailseeker’s extra length goes into the cargo area rather than increasing passenger space. Regardless, the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker is a highly compelling EV. Take a tour of the new electric SUV’s interior in the gallery below.
Comfort
In terms of passenger space, the Trailseeker’s dimensions land between the smaller Subaru Forester and Crosstrek hybrids. The Trailseeker’s measurements are almost identical to those of the Solterra. The Trailseeker’s longer, flatter roof nets rear-seat passengers an extra 0.6 inch of headroom — 38.6 inches to 38 — unless you compare Touring trim levels, which both include a panoramic moonroof. Then, headroom in the back measures the same 37.1 inches.
As Cars.com West Coast Bureau Chief Conner Golden noted in his first drive of the Trailseeker, Subaru’s largest electric SUV enjoys excellent visibility and ride comfort. Standard features on the entry-level Premium trim include synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats and a power driver’s seat with two-way adjustable lumbar support. Pricier trim levels add a power-adjustable passenger seat, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.
Cargo Space
The additional length expands the Trailseeker’s cargo hold to 31.3 cubic feet with the rear seats up and a maximum of 74 cubes with them folded flat. The Solterra has 23.8 and 63.5 cubic feet, respectively. For context, Subaru’s Outback (also new for 2026) has 34.6 cubic feet with the seats up and 80.5 cubic feet with them down, and the Forester Hybrid has 27.5 and 69.1 cubic feet, respectively.
