The second-generation subcompact Kia Seltos debuted at the 2026 New York International Auto Show, revealing that Kia’s smallest SUV got a big makeover. The 2027 Seltos wears bold new styling that borrows heavily from the big three-row EV9, and it looks fantastic. The 2027 Kia Seltos is also larger than its predecessor outside — and, more critically, inside.

The 2027 Seltos is larger in every dimension than the first-generation SUV, but the single greatest gain is in the most important measure: wheelbase. Stretched nearly 2.5 inches between the axles, the new Seltos boasts an immediately noticeable increase in backseat legroom that Kia says puts this small SUV at the top of its class in this critical measurement. Kia also claims a roughly 20% increase in cargo volume.
The 2027 Seltos could get a fair bit more expensive than the outgoing model and still be one of the most affordable SUVs on the market. Yet even the base trim level boasts a standard nearly 30-inch display that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 5-inch climate-control panel and 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen under a single pane of glass. Available features that push pricier Seltos trims further upmarket include a panoramic moonroof, Harman Kardon and Bose audio systems, a head-up display and 64-color ambient lighting.
