Volvo is recalling more than 413,100 vehicles over an issue with the rearview camera that could impact driver visibility. The recall is an expansion and update to a previous recall from May 2025.

Affected vehicles include the following Volvos and their associated model years:

  • 2021-25 XC40 SUVs
  • 2022 V90 wagons
  • 2022-24 C40 Recharge electric SUVs
  • 2022-25 S90 sedans, V90 Cross Country wagons and XC60 SUVs
  • 2023-25 S60 sedans, V60 and V60 Cross Country wagons, and XC90 SUVs
  • 2025 EC40 and EX40 electric SUVs

A software issue may prevent the rearview camera from displaying an image when the vehicle is placed in Reverse, decreasing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

To resolve the issue, the software will be updated via a dealer or an over-the-air update for free. Vehicles that were previously repaired for the issue under recall 25V282 will also need to have the new remedy performed. Volvo will begin notifying owners Feb. 16, but those with further questions in the meantime can call the brand at 800-458-1552 (Volvo’s number for this recall is R10333), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
