How Does the Uncharted’s Range Compare?
Few EVs with truly exceptional range have price tags below $70,000, and few affordable EVs can go more than 300 miles on a charge. The Uncharted’s competitive set balances affordability with practicality better than most.
Considering the vehicles here from a pure cost-per-mile-of-range perspective, the Nissan Leaf is the best bargain ($104 per mile), followed by the Chevrolet Bolt ($111). The Kia Niro EV is the priciest per mile at $163. The FWD and AWD Uncharted are a mid-pack value as far as range for the money, coming in at $118 and $144, respectively. The Toyota C-HR, a corporate cousin of the Uncharted that’s based on a partnership between Toyota and Subaru, only comes with AWD and a cost per mile of $134. The Lucid Air Grand Touring is currently the longest-range EV available, but with its $116,400 price and 512-mile range, you pay $227 for each mile.

How Big Is the Subaru Uncharted?
At 177.8 inches long, the Uncharted is a couple of inches longer than the Niro EV and the new Nissan Leaf. It slots between the smaller Bolt and the longer Chevrolet Equinox EV. It is slightly shorter overall but wider and taller than the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla sedans.
How Much Is the Subaru Uncharted?
The Uncharted is available in three trim levels: the FWD Premium and the AWD Sport and GT. Pricing is as follows:
- Premium: $36,445
- Sport: $41,245
- GT: $45,425
Is the Subaru Uncharted Related to the Toyota C-HR?
All of Subaru’s EVs were developed in cooperation with Toyota. The Subaru Solterra is the Toyota bZ, and the Subaru Trailseeker is the Toyota bZ Woodland. Other than a few branded pieces, the Uncharted is largely the same as the C-HR. Oddly, given Subaru’s primarily AWD lineup, the Uncharted drives only its front wheels, while AWD is standard on the C-HR.
