Great mileage car

I now have 240,000 miles on my 2005 Prius! The car is still going great. Everything checks out as working as it should. This car pays for itself on all the gas I save.

Great Buy TOP DOG of MPGs!!!

This car may have a bit of an sci-fi look to it, but if you give it a chance it will prove to be one of the best decisions you've ever made for your pocketbook.

Very Nice Car

Owned 2005 - bought new & it has given us very little problems. Mileage is high 30's to mid 40's normally. Occasionally higher but not often.

This is what the future will look like!

It's amazing how practical this car is while geting such a great fuel consumption. The onboard vehicle management system is a great tool to give the driver a much better insight in how he drives. It's a fun car too... Acceleration is great and handling is very easy. All my friends fall in love with it once they come for a ride... My next car will surely be another Prius...

Best Value in a Car and a Pleasure to Drive

The Prius has been a dream to own and drive. Bought one in 2005, prior to Katrina. When the gas prices started soaring, I couldn't believe the difference this car made in my life! The car has lots of power when you need it, but it is fun to see how well I can drive to achieve up to 50 mpg over an extended period of time. I couldn't be happier and will make my next car a Prius!

Worst Car I Have Ever Owned

I purchased my brand new Prius in May of 2005. I thought everything was fine until about 5,000 miles into ownership. First the left taillight went out unexpectedly. That was a $300 dollar repair. Second, at about 9,000 miles, the display screen started blurring and eventually, the picture went away. I was also disappointed with the gas millage. I expected 60 miles per gallon, as the brochure said, but no. The highest I ever got was 42 MPG, and that was on a full battery charge. My previous Chevy Cavalier got almost 50 MPG on the highway, 41 in the city. WHY! After all the technology they put in this car, it should be able to excel 60 miles per gallon, but I guess not. I am also very displeased with the build quality. The interior plastics are about as cheap as they go, and the vinyl on the door top is falling off! I liked the initial idea of this car, but I am very disappointed with the car itself. At 39,000 miles, I have traded in this car for a 2006 VW Jetta TDI, which I recently drove on the highway and got 62 miles per gallon. Usually I get about 57. My advice would be to stay away from the Prius, and buy a small, lightweight car or a diesel if you want high millage.

WOW

Really does get 45 mpg at highway speeds and in the city. Got 55 mpg once at 55 mph. Very reliable. Wish I had the back up camera, but the navigation system is so helpful. Only problem has been the headlght circuit board, $500 to rapair.

Great fuel economy, fun to drive

I have over 80000 miles on this and the average milage is 48.8 mpg. Hard on tires, nice highway cruiser! Had cars that handled better then this, but they would break down and not get the economy that this one does!

gratifying to own

I know of no better car made at this time. Excellent gas mileage, better for our environment, well engineered, comfortable, safe, dependable, & much roomier on the inside than it appears. Several of our friends have bought one since knowing ours, & are equally pleased.
