The one that got away
I loved my prius. It was so reliable and great on gas. We had many good times. Great commuter, would absolutely buy one again.

Great for commuting, not for passengers
I drive all over my state for work, and this little car has held up great. I've got about 230k miles on it at this point. Interior comforts could use an upgrade; the sun visor is too short, rear passengers don't get enough airflow from a/c.

I love still getting 50 miles to the gallon
It has outlived it projected master battery life by more than 6 years. I do normal service, including a starter battery every few years and new tires, but I am still on my original brakes as they are barely warn (recuperative braking helps with that!)

Excellent gas mileage !
This car has a very expensive stereo system that is almost the same as in Mercedes vehicles. It exceeds all my expectations for ride, comfort and also storage from the hatchback. We use it to sleep in the back on trips to Florida also when laying down in the back at night you can see the stars through the glass. Very awesome vehicle to own !

265,000 miles and still going strong!
My 2005 Prius is the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I bought it new. It has over 265,000 miles on it, and I've replaced both headlights, one wheel bearing, and the main battery. That's it. I had the battery replaced at Cerra's in Greensburg, PA (I highly recommend them?they are awesome) for about $2500, and that was at 190,000 miles. It still runs like the day I bought it. Very solid, no rattles. It's garage kept, and I change the oil every 3,000 miles, so that probably helps. When this one goes to the big parking lot in the sky, I'll definitely buy another Prius. But I don't expect that to happen for another 250,000 or more.

Most trouble-free car I've ever owned 230K mi now.
I've owned our 2005 Prius as a second owner from 6000 mi on it when I bought it. 12 years later, it now has 235+K Miles on it and still dependable and reliable. No leaks, AC still cold, everything still works, and continues to get 46 MPG.

SUPER!
I traded a Ford Windstar for the 2005 Prius. The Prius saved me OVER $30,000 in gas in the 10 yrs I had it. The avg was 52.7 mpg. The 12 v batt died and I got an expensive Optima batt to replace the EXPENSIVE Toyota and the Optima had 30% more cranking amps. The Hybrid battery died after 150,000 miles. I replaced TWO cells and got another 75,000 out of the battery. Third generation batteries (used) are available from Dorman for $1200 to $1500 and they will last another 100,000 mi. The car actually had a life of around 500,000 miles with a better battery from Dorman. The Inverter cooling water pump was defective and recalled. Toyota replaced it with another inverter coolant pump of the SAME design and it went bad again. These second generation Batteries and coolant pumps are NOT capable of withstanding the Florida heat and the great air conditioning only loads the car with more heat. Buy a 3rd generation Prius after 2010 and the batteries are better. Buy an inverter coolant pump from EBay, not Toyota and it is $50 and will not die from the Florida heat.

I've never driven so miles in my life.
We have owned this car since Jan. 2006. We currently have 174,250 miles on it. Most reliable vehicle I've owned. Vehicle stills feels it is new. Fuel economy is as it was when we first bought it. No major repairs, just normal wear and tear along with normal maintenance for costs. All five members of the family enjoy driving this car. Now that I am retired I am not putting the average 21,000 miles a year, more like 9,000 now. Car will last another two years easily. Purchase one of these used for your child's first car. He/She will thank you for doing so.

Just an all around amazing vehicle.
Incredibly reliable vehicle with some of the best fuel efficiency on the market. This is the car that defined the hybrid vehicle market, and the standard against which others are compared.
