There’s Now an Even Higher-Performance Toyota Corolla GR: The GRMN

Think of the 2026 Toyota Corolla GRMN as the digitally remastered rerelease of the original “Blade Runner”: You’ve seen this movie before, but it didn’t look quite like this. Like the 2023 GR Corolla Morizo Edition (named for then-president Akio Toyoda’s racing alter ego), the GRMN strips the GR Corolla of its rear seats, adds torque and gets suspension, driveline and aerodynamic tweaks.
The Morizo Edition wore a carbon-fiber roof, but the Corolla GRMN uses carbon fiber for the hood, aggressively vented front fenders and rear wing, the last of which is adjustable for angle of attack. Between these bits and the deleted rear seats, the GRMN is a claimed 66 pounds lighter than the standard GR Corolla.

Performance-Tuned Everything
Torque increases by just 7 pounds-feet, from 295 to 302, but the GRMN also gets an intercooler sprayer to cool the intake air and better maintain peak output during prolonged high-performance driving.
While Toyota made an automatic transmission available to GR Corolla buyers for 2025, don’t expect the GRMN to make any such accommodation — it’s available exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission. Toyota retuned the torque distribution across the rear axle for improved high-speed stability, and the company says new shocks and springs will better keep the inside tires on the ground during hard turns. Those tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s, a more extreme evolution of the Pilot Sport 5 rubber worn by the standard GR Corolla. Retuned steering also provides more assistance under high cornering loads.
Fewer Seats, Unique Trim
Inside, the Corolla GRMN is differentiated by more than just the absence of a backseat. Exclusive front seats are upholstered in black synthetic suede with red synthetic leather accents. The dashboard is flocked, a treatment that helps give it a matte finish to reduce distracting glare. Metallic red trim on the doors and shift knob provide further accents, and Toyota tops it off with Akio Toyoda’s “Morizo” signature stitched into the passenger-side dash panel and a serialized number plate ahead of the shifter.

Release Date and Pricing
Toyota is withholding a release date and pricing for now, but the 2026 model year makes us suspect that information is forthcoming. The Morizo Edition cost $50,995 in 2023, when the base price of the GR Corolla was $37,195. Given the 2026 GR Corolla starts at $41,115, expect the Corolla GRMN to land near $60,000, if not higher.
