See Every Photo We Took of the New 2026 Jeep Cherokee’s Interior
What Car Shoppers Need to Know
- Jeep Cherokee returns all-new after two-year hiatus
- Spacious, comfortable interior rivals the best in class
- Standard hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive
After a two-year sabbatical, the Jeep Cherokee returns to do battle with the bestselling SUVs in the country, the likes of the Chevrolet Equinox, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. Much about the new Cherokee surprised us during our first encounter, not least of which was its vastly improved interior.
Space Is the Ultimate Luxury
The foundation for the Cherokee’s comfortable cabin is the compact SUV’s size. Much larger than before, the Cherokee is now among the biggest vehicles in the class. Its 113-inch wheelbase is as much as 7 inches longer than those of key competitors, although that does not translate to an additional 7 inches of legroom. The Cherokee’s 41.3 inches of front and 38.5 inches of rear legroom are about average for the class, though a touch tighter than the CR-V and Equinox.
With 40.3 inches of front-seat headroom and 40.2 inches in the backseat (38 and 38.1 inches, respectively, with the available panoramic moonroof), the Cherokee offers taller drivers more noggin space than its Chevrolet, Honda and Toyota rivals, and its wider body allows for a wider cabin as measured in more generous shoulder and hip room than those SUVs. Cargo volume grows substantially from the previous-generation Cherokee’s, but at 33.6 cubic feet with the rear seats up and 68.3 cubic feet with them folded, it does still trail the Toyota and Honda.

The Interior Is All About the Feel (and the Doodads)
Rich new materials imbue the 2026 Cherokee’s cabin with an upscale look and feel that is backed up by refined ride quality and a hushed yet capable hybrid powertrain. A low dash affords excellent forward visibility, and the base model’s generous equipment level positions it directly against rivals’ uplevel trims. That’s important, as the Cherokee’s higher base price also lines it up against those competitors’ trims.
A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is standard in the Jeep, as is a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The entry-level Cherokee has cloth seats, but the cabin is dressed up with synthetic leather door trim and a rich, wrapped steering wheel. Dual-zone automatic climate control is also standard.
As you climb the 2026 Cherokee’s trim-level ladder, the Laredo adds embossed seats with the option of a two-tone gray and black cabin, as well as heated front seats and a power-adjustable driver’s chair. The Limited is upholstered in synthetic leather with contrast stitching and adds a power-adjustable passenger seat and a heated steering wheel. At the top of the lineup, the Overland adds a dual-pane panoramic moonroof and a nine-speaker Alpine sound system. Ventilated front seats and heated rears are optional on the Overland in a $995 tech bundle that also includes a 360-degree camera system and automated parking.
But that’s enough words. Crawl into the 2026 Jeep Cherokee’s cabin in the photo gallery and see the massive improvements for yourself.
