See Every Photo We Took of the 2026 Chevrolet Trax’s Interior
What Car Shoppers Need to Know
- The Chevrolet Trax is more spacious inside than it looks from the outside.
- The Trax has a colorful cabin that lives up to the expectation set by its sporty exterior.
- Standard features abound, including wireless smartphone integration and plenty of advanced safety technology.
The Chevrolet Trax subcompact SUV was fully redesigned for 2024 and carries into 2026 mostly unchanged. It is only available with front-wheel drive and competes with similarly sized vehicles like the Buick Envista and Hyundai Venue. Many subcompact vehicles force consumers to choose between passenger and cargo space, but the Trax achieves a mostly successful balance, with a couple of caveats. Check out all the photos we’ve taken of the Trax’s interior to see for yourself.

Passenger and Cargo Space Gracefully Coexist
The Trax’s cabin feels more airy and welcoming than its exterior suggests. The front seats are spacious, and it’s easy for a driver of average height to find a comfortable position. Chevy’s designers thoughtfully included plenty of small-items storage, including a cavernous center console cubby and several more convenient, easy-to-reach places to tuck everyday clutter out of sight.
Adults will likely feel cramped in the backseat, as the sloped roofline gives the exterior a sporty profile but compromises rear headroom and cargo space. The rear bench and Latch anchors accommodate child booster seats, though the head restraint does prevent them from sitting flush against the seatback. Rear-facing convertible and infant seats may require the front passenger seat to be moved far forward, cutting into front legroom. Furthermore, the bottom Latch anchors may be hard to reach.
If you don’t have rear passengers or child-safety seats, you’ll find the backseat is a great place for overflow cargo thanks to a 60/40-split, folding rear bench. In most cases, however, the Trax will accommodate a decent grocery run.
Chevrolet says the Trax has a 25.6-cubic-foot cargo hold, which is about on par with most subcompact vehicles, though it falls slightly short of the Kia Seltos (26.6 cubic feet). The space is wide and deep, so it’s easy to load and unload. In Cars.com’s cargo testing, the Trax measured with more cargo space behind the backseat than the Subaru Crosstrek, Chevrolet Trailblazer, and about the same as the Mazda CX-30 and Ford Bronco Sport.

Standard Features Deliver Plenty of Value
The entry-level Trax LS features cloth upholstery and manually-adjustable front seats. Options include cloth upholstery with synthetic leather trim, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. It’s not a vehicle for the utmost comfort — note the absence of a power-adjustable front passenger seat and heated rear seats — but it doesn’t pretend to be, either.
Chevrolet equips the Trax with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, though that’s swapped out for an 11-inch touchscreen about halfway through the trim ladder. All versions get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, remote keyless entry and steering wheel-mounted controls. Features like remote start and wireless charging are available.
The Trax also comes standard with forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, a following distance indicator, a rear-seat reminder system and GM’s Teen Driver system, which lets the car’s primary driver set limits on functions such as speed and audio volume. Options include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and rear park assist.
