Nissan is recalling more than 51,500 examples of its Kicks subcompact SUV over an issue with the instrument panel display, which may go blank.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2025-26 Kicks vehicles. A software error in the combination meter display unit may cause the screen to go partially or fully blank, preventing drivers from seeing critical safety information (such as vehicle speed and warning lights) and increasing the risk of a crash.
To resolve the issue, dealers will update the combination meter software for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 1. Those with questions in the meantime can contact Nissan at 800-647-7261 (the automaker’s number for this recall is PMA66), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
