Ford is recalling nearly 890,000 Ford and Lincoln SUVs over an issue with the backup camera. The automaker recalled a similar population of the same models Thursday for faulty windshield wipers.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2020-22 Ford Escapes and Lincoln Corsairs and model-year 2020-24 Ford Explorers and Lincoln Aviators. The image on the center display may flip or invert and present an incorrect rearview image when the vehicle is in Reverse, reducing the driver’s visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy is currently under development. Interim letters notifying owners of the issue are expected to be mailed April 17; a second letter will be sent once a remedy is available, which Ford expects to be sometime in the second quarter of 2026. Those with further questions can contact the automaker at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 26C11), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
