Here Are the Best Lease Deals Before the EV Tax Credit Goes Away
It’s a great time to lease an electric vehicle. With the $7,500 federal tax credit for new EVs expiring Sept. 30, dealers and automakers are incentivizing new electric cars to clear lots of slow-selling models. Consumers can benefit from steep cash incentives, low down payments and a leasing loophole that, for another few weeks, lets many lessees take advantage of the credit not available to buyers.

Here are some of the best lease deals through the end of September. Some automakers, such as Lucid, are offering a $7,500 lease credit that is a capital cost reduction that helps lower the monthly payment. All deals listed are available nationally, though some regional markets may offer better incentives; always check with the dealer to ensure the deal is offered, however, as it can vary by state and some dealers may not advertise it. A lease also has an acquisition fee due at signing, typically ranging from $295 to about $1,000, which is not included here.
