This is the all new 2026 Toyota bZ Woodland. And as the name implies, it has some extra off-road capability when compared to the standard bZ Crossover. But in this case, I don't think that matters at all.
(upbeat music) This is essentially an elongated version of the standard bZ Crossover with an extra six inches of overall length. And that does translate to some extra cargo capacity and passenger space. But overall, I just really like the way that this thing looks. I think it looks better proportionally than the standard bZ. You know, we love a good wagon. Now, this is primarily positioned as an active lifestyler vehicle for like hikers and bikers. And as such, it is offered exclusively with dual electric motors for all-wheel drive. It's got all-terrain tires as an option and a little bit higher ride height. Now for competition, this is overlapped a lot with the standard Toyota bZ Crossover, but its extra overall length and extra cargo capacity means it's closest to the Chevrolet Blazer EV in size and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 XRT in spirit. It's also worth noting that other than styling and the name, this is very much the new Subaru Trailseeker. Really, it's built in a Subaru factory. Does this new Woodland drive any different than the standard bZ? Yes, it does. For one, these dual motors have more power with 375 horsepower. And as a result, ooh, it scoots. It's got a bit more meat than you'd both expect and/or really need in a crossover like this. But hey, I'm not complaining. That's pretty good power, but we've got great visibility. It rides nice, very quiet. And I do like this interior, especially in this loaded example. No matter which way you look at it, I think the mere existence of the new Toyota bZ Woodland is a net positive. It is definitely an underserved segment both in size and in substance. And Toyota is in desperate need of some additional variants in its small EV lineup. And this is gonna go a long way in bringing people into the Toyota fold, even if they never, ever plan on setting a single wheel off pavement.
