On certain sport utility vehicles equipped with speed control, the speed control cable may be defective and malfunction or allow water into the cable, eventually causing corrosion that could interfere with the function of the speed control. A stuck throttle could result in a crash.
Dealers will inspect the speed control cables for the defective cables and replace those found. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began Aug. 21, 2000. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673.

This condition could cause loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect the rear hubs and, if necessary, replace them. The manufacturer has reported that owner notification began Oct. 2, 2000. Owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673.
