The past week has been busy on the safety front for automaker Ford, with three major recalls involving backup cameras and windshield wipers on various models. Now, the automaker is issuing another recall for more than 47,800 vehicles, including some nameplates from its luxury arm Lincoln. The issue at hand may lead to an unexpected loss of drive power.

Affected Ford vehicles include model-year 2025 Bronco, Bronco Sport, Escape and Explorer SUVs; Mustang sports cars; and Maverick and Ranger pickup trucks. Affected Lincolns include model-year 2025 Corsair and Nautilus SUVs. The exhaust gas recirculation valve in these vehicles may fail and cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy is currently under development. Interim letters notifying owners of the issue are expected to be mailed March 16; a second letter will be sent once a remedy is available, which Ford expects to be sometime in September. Those with further questions can contact the automaker at 866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 26S10), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
