Is Royal Administration Services Worth the Cost?

Extended warranty plans administered by Royal Administration Services may be worth the cost if you want comprehensive and customizable vehicle coverage. The extensive range of service plan options allows you to choose the level of protection that best suits your needs and budget. From high-tech coverage for newer vehicles to powertrain coverage for older models and specialized electric-vehiclecoverage, Royal Administration Services administers a spectrum of protection plans designed to provide peace of mind.

What Does Royal Administration Services Cover?

Because Royal Administration Services is a warranty administration company for several Royal warranty plans, coverage varies. Moreover, some Royal products offer various coverage levels. For example, there are four Royal Protect plan options: Primary, Preferred, Premium and Ultimate. Products also come with optional coverage you can add to plans to meet your specific needs.

Limited components in the following systems are commonly covered by Royal’s basic extended warranty products:

  • Engine
  • Transmission and transfer case
  • Front and rear differential assembly
  • Front and rear drive axle
  • Seals and gaskets related to covered components

More robust coverage may also include:

  • Additional engine components
  • Additional transmission and transfer case components
  • Steering
  • Electrical
  • Brakes
  • Air conditioning
  • Cooling
  • Fuel delivery

What does Royal Administration Services not cover?

Ultimately, Royal Administration Services coverage depends on the Royal plan you purchase. That said, common exclusions across most extended car warranties include:

  • Damage resulting from collisions
  • Normal maintenance items
  • Loss caused by negligence
  • Preexisting conditions
  • Theft and vandalism
  • Environmental damage
  • Tire replacement and repair

Royal Administration Services Warranty Plans

Royal Administration Services is an extended warranty plan administrator and doesn’t sell or market coverage products. Instead, you can choose from a wide range of Royal programs that include — but aren’t limited to — the following:

  • Buyer’s Choice: Buyer’s Choice offers two warranty plans (Standard and Comprehensive), both of which include 24-hour roadside assistance and rental benefits.
  • Royal Drive: There are four product tiers available from the Royal Drive extended warranty: Ignition, Accelerate, Overdrive and Redline. You can also choose from three optional maintenance packages.
  • Fully Charged: Tailored to EVs, Fully Charged offers one exclusionary coverage option. This product also offers the ability to add optional coverage for brake pads and shoes, wiper blades and lights.
  • Royal Extreme Ancillary Products: This offering can be added to other Royal products to extend coverage to anti-theft protection, excess wear and tear, key fob replacement, and other systems and components. Plans are available separately or as a bundled package.
  • Redline Wrap: Part of the Royal Drive family of plans, Redline Wrap offers exclusionary coverage for vehicles still covered by their original manufacturer’s powertrain warranty.
  • Repair Reimbursement Program): Royal’s RRP offering is an auto repair parts and labor discount program rather than an extended warranty. Consider this option if you’re a California resident.
  • Royal Protect:  With four plans available (Primary, Preferred, Premium and Ultimate), Royal Protect offers coverage similar to the company’s Royal Drive offering.

Royal also offers Royal Treatment, a dealer’s warranty program with major component protection. The plan is available for higher-mileage vehicles and has several term options. If none of these options meet your needs, compare the best extended car warranty plans to evaluate your other options.

Royal Administration Services mileage limits

Extended car warranty providers typically impose a maximum mileage on cars to qualify for coverage. Royal doesn’t publish these requirements for its extended warranty products. Instead, you’ll need to contact Royal Administration Inc. to determine if one of its products aligns with your vehicle mileage. Alternatively, consider the best used-car warranty companies that are accessible to drivers with older and high-mileage vehicles.

Royal Administration Services waiting period

Almost all extended warranty companies impose waiting periods before coverage goes into effect. An extended warranty waiting period typically lasts 30 days and 1,000 miles. However, the waiting period for your plan depends on the type of Royal coverage you have.

Royal Administration Services claims process

To file a claim with a warranty product serviced by Royal Administration Services, take your car to one of 86,000 vehicle service centers nationwide. Provide a copy of your service contract so the facility can diagnose your repair needs and have the work authorized by the plan administrator. You must also authorize the repair facility to tear down and inspect the vehicle to the point where it can diagnose the damage.

You’ll be reimbursed for the repairs if the damage falls within the scope of your warranty and the plan administrator authorizes the work. Once covered repairs are complete, you or the repair facility must submit a claim within 180 days of the authorization date. Include relevant information like your paid invoice, an itemized list of replacement parts, a description of labor vehicle mileage and other necessary details.

Royal Administration Services customer satisfaction

Royal Administration Services has extremely low consumer ratings online. Royal has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, is BBB-accredited and has a 3.72-star rating based on 87 customer reviews. Many complaints through the BBB are related to denied coverage, trouble canceling coverage and difficulty receiving reimbursement for repairs. Royal Administration Services doesn’t appear to have a Trustpilot profile.

Royal Administration Services customer service

You can contact Royal Administration Services via phone, email or fax. The company has different phone lines for sales support and claim initiation, general inquiries and customer concerns. Roadside assistance is available through third-party provider Quest Towing Services, Inc., which you can contact via a separate phone number.

Royal Administration Services Cost

The cost of coverage for coverage varies by the Royal program and other factors. The company doesn’t publish plan pricing online. Contact Royal Administration Inc. by phone to find an extended warranty product that meets your needs.

Royal Administration Services Alternatives

Products serviced by Royal Administration Services include a wide array of coverage options. However, the company’s lack of transparency around pricing and its confusing business structure mean it isn’t a good option for everyone. Here are some other popular service providers that offer competitive extended auto warranty services.

  • Endurance: Endurance offers three plans, ranging from affordable coverage for older vehicles to extensive coverage. Mechanical breakdown insurance is also available for California residents. Customers also receive one free year of Elite Benefits, including perks such as key fob replacements, 24/7 roadside assistance and complete tire coverage, adding value beyond the standard warranty coverage.
  • CarShield: CarShield stands out for its flexibility by offering eight plans, including motorcycle and ATV coverage and EV coverage. Its plans range from basic powertrain coverage to an extensive plan similar to a manufacturer warranty. You can also purchase specialty coverage with CarShield’s Aluminum plan, which covers most electrical and computer-related problems.
  • Carchex: Carchex offers five levels of coverage, from the most basic Powertrain plan to the company’s exclusionary Titanium plan. You can also get Extra Care coverage that protects components outside the powertrain, including the electrical, steering, suspension and braking systems. Carchex works with more than 30,000 repair facilities in the U.S. and has an A+ rating from the BBB.
