See Every Photo We Took of the 2027 Kia Telluride’s Interior
What Car Shoppers Need to Know
- Kia Telluride is all-new for 2027
- Larger than its predecessor, with a more spacious cabin
- Available in daring two-tone upholstery combinations, including purple and beige
The all-new 2027 Kia Telluride has a tough act to follow. We named its predecessor our Best Family Car of 2022 thanks to its spacious cabin, comfortable ride, generous standard safety suite and unbeatable value proposition. Kia maintains those qualities in the new 2027 model while expanding interior space by most measures.
While increased second- and third-row legroom are always welcome in a family-oriented SUV, the second-generation Telluride’s most radical departure from its predecessor is in the styling of the more voluminous cabin. Kia’s mid-size three-row SUV went from a nice but unremarkable interior to a design showcase in stitched synthetic leather and a choice of daring two-tone combinations, including purple over beige and navy blue over orange. Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman recently spent some time in the Telluride fitted with the former option, which Kia calls Blackberry and Sand Beige. Check out the SUV’s eye-popping new threads in our gallery below.

Superbly Spacious
The Telluride’s single area of greatest (literal) growth between first and second generation is perhaps the most important measurement. The 2027 model is 2.3 inches longer overall than its predecessor, but the wheelbase stretches 2.7 inches. Much of that extra space is evenly distributed between the second- and third-row seats, which enjoy an additional 0.6 inch and 0.7 inch of legroom, respectively, compared to the outgoing model.
Headroom increases by less than 0.5 inch in the first two rows but is down 0.7 inch in the back.
The second-row seat also enjoys more fore-and-aft adjustability than before, which makes the Telluride and its corporate twin, the Hyundai Palisade, two of the rare vehicles in this class that can comfortably shuttle adults in all three rows. With 22.3 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the third row and 89.3 cubes with the second and third rows folded down, the 2027 Telluride can also haul slightly more than its predecessor.
Everything But the Badge
The entry-level Telluride LX doesn’t stand out from its competitors in terms of luxury equipment, but it doesn’t trail them either. Standard features include LED exterior lighting, keyless entry and start, and tri-zone automatic climate control. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is also standard, and the Telluride boasts wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two wireless phone chargers for front-seat occupants and an eight-speaker audio system.

On the pricier trim levels, standard features include 21-inch alloy wheels, dual moonroofs — one for the front seat and another for the second and third rows — heated and ventilated front seats, heated and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, and the aforementioned two-tone synthetic suede and leather upholstery.
The Telluride also offers all of the advanced safety technology you’d expect from a more expensive SUV. In addition to the generous suite of standard systems — which includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitors and lane-following steering assist — optional equipment includes Hyundai/Kia’s hands-on Highway Driving Assist 2 semi-autonomous driving system, automated parking and a head-up display. Scan the Telluride’s options list, and you’ll find everything you’d expect from a premium brand except for the prestigious badge.
