Pretty good...
Overall, I'd call this pretty good. The car gets great mileage and it falls in the category of "fun to drive". Overall, I'd say that we're really pleased. I don't want to minimize that we do LIKE the car - but there are some negatives that are a little baffling. 1) keyless door unlock only unlocks the driver's door. Yet, using the key unlocks all doors. It's a minor annoyance that we have to deal with almost every time we go out to the car. 2) Comfort - I can't call the car comfortable for long trips. We drove about 3 hours yesterday in (yah, 51 MPG!) and I'm so sore today. I can't imagine a really long trip in it. 3) Had to take it in for service the other day - there was a problem with one of the tires. A car with less than 3000 miles and they said that the tire was our fault for how we drive the car. Not pleased with that or the $144 bill to fix it. Overall - the car feels like a compromise. I suspect a Prius V would be a different experience, so it's a case of getting what you pay for. However, if I"m going to pay $30 or $40,000 for a car, it won't be a Prius.

Love my Prius!
This is my second Prius and I would never purchase anything else but another Prius. If I drive conservatively I get 62 MPG. I is very comfortable and my friends cannot get over how quiet it is. I had 40,000 miles and the original tires are still in good shape on my 2010 Prius. My husband like that car so much I traded his car in on my 2012 Prius and gave him my 2010. Now we are a total Prius family and luv'n it!

sporty critter
We have an older one used for daily commuting and I used to have one as a company car (both flawless). Purchased a new "loaded" one and added the 17" wheels. They really, really change the drive/ride so it feels and looks like a roadster/sports car (huge change from standard 15" wheels). The sunroof is terrific. The larger nav. screen is great. Everyone is always amazed how much room there is in this car-much bigger on the inside than it looks outside-two people and two very large dogs and a bunch a stuff and room to spare. Avg. mileage is just under 50 and I drive it hard. Very, very pleased.

Good car
I recently purchased a 2012 Toyota Prius. I've run three tanks of fuel through it and got 45.3, 48.4 and 49.3 mpg, using the number of miles driven/the number of gallons purchased method to arrive at consumption. The car has a lot of nice features standard, and I opted for no options, although a leather seat for the driver would be nice. There is nothing special about the car, but nothing bad either, except the steering wheel does not extent out far enough.

Rattles
The recycled materials used for the dash and other parts of the interior are hard and tend to rattle a lot. On very smooth surfaces it is very quite, but less than perfect blacktop causes continuous rattles. I took it back to the dealer with no luck. It does get 50 mpg day in and day out. But not without a lot of noise.

I'm satisfied with the Prius 3 but must report one issue. A couple weeks after delivery a message "check hybrid system" appeared in the information center. The short version is that the computer determined that the cells in the hybrid battery were not elqualized. The dealer replaced the battery and provided a rental car during the 19 days it took to get the battery. Apparently it came from Tokio. I wasn't w/o transportation and the 2012 Camry the dealership provided was good transportation but it was a frustrating to not have the new car I recently purchased. On the positive side, the Toyota "Customer Experience" office extended my warranty to 125K and sent a $200 gift card for my inconvenience. The car runs fine and routinely gets 50+ mpg. My only complaints about the car are that I don't like the split view through the back window and there is no compass heading displayed in the GPS or the info window. Perhaps the 4 & 5 models have a compass. I enjoy driving it.

Nice little car!
I was trading in a 10 year old Honda Odyssey, as I no longer needed all that room, and wanted better fuel economy. I am still getting used to the much smaller "cockpit" feeling of the Prius, and the dash has way more stuff on it than I will ever use. That said, I do enjoy driving this small car, and the mileage has been all they promised, maybe more! It handles well, and I don't miss the extra power that guzzled all the gas. If I ever get all the technical stuff figured out, I'm sure I will like it even more!

Great gas mileage
The car is comfortable and rides well for its size and weight. The gas mileage is as good or better than claimed on the EPA sticker. We use the car for errands around town but it rides well enough that I would take it on a trip to take advantage of the great gas mileage.

Prius V
This is the hybrid I've been waiting for. Finally a wagon. Hauling capacity plus good gas mileage. I've had it about a month now and am quite pleased, but it does take some getting used to. Biggest problem for me is that I the car is so quiet it's easy to drive faster than you think. This is really a different car in many respects. In others, it's pretty normal. But there is excellent head and leg room in the back seat. The seats fold almost flat just by pulling a lever on the side. Have the entune navigation system, and I like it. (Navigation was one of my requirements.) But there are definitely parts of the entune system that I would redesign for better ease of use.
