This SUV is the perfect car for highway driving and hauling large things. It rides high yet is smooth on the road and responsive. Great large vehicle,

Wife has always wanted one!
Love the style & off road capability of the Trail, ours has some really nice upgrades that make it perfect for the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

King of its class?
I got this car for my wife, replacing an 2003 Audi allroad which we had since new. We like getting on the back roads of the Rockies and had reached the limit of where the allroad's airbag lift suspension could take us, and that same suspension system was starting to bleed us to death with age related repair costs. Years ago we had a 1982 Gen 1 Landcruiser, and a 4Runner Trail Premium with terrain and crawl control was the right choice to get further into the mountains while still having a good in-town car. The only additions were a set of Toyota winter floor and cargo mats, a set of BF Goodrich KO2 All-Terrains, and running boards. The car has been perfect. We couldn't be more pleased with the 4X4 mountain performance, and it really surprised us with the around-town ride and handling. Issues include visibility of the instrument panel during the day which is glared-out. You have to turn up the instrument lights to the highest setting to be able to see it through the glare. Second is the back-up camera. The image is not very sharp and the screen is small by today's standards. Finally, is it only me who believes the driver should have control over all the windows even when they are locked so one's dogs can't accidentally open them then standing on the rear armrests? All tolled, a 5-Star car.

Excellent SUV. Reliable and safe. Holds resale value very well. Has the features and comfort of a car but the feel and capability of a truck.

New to 4runner
I absolutely love this vehicle. Back in 2016 I rented a toyota 4runner to travel to interviews for school. I immediately knew that this was the car I was working to get. Fast forward 4 years later and I am the proud owner of a 4 runner. It rides great and the interior design has everything that I need. great for off-roading too

4Runner for life
This is a car I have coveted since high school. Now that I'm all grown-up I was able to buy my first one in 2014 which subsequently saved my family in a serious accident. I promptly went out and bought the newest model a week after the crash. She's a little long in the tooth as far as drivetrain and MPGs go, but she is a beast. This is the most solid and dependable vehicle I have ever owned, and I plan on rolling all 9's on the odometer before letting her rest. This is a vehicle that my son will drive when he is old enough. While I have a couple small complaints overall, this is my perfect vehicle. Long live the 4Runner heritage.

Convenience and Comfort
This car was the perfect balance between convenience and comfort. I would use this car to tow, go off-road, haul a full load on road trips, go on camping trips with friends, and never once did I feel like I was sacrificing my modern luxuries to have such a functional car. This car could take you to the end of the world through an apocalypse and as soon as you step in the whole world would melt around you. It for me is my perfect everything car. Though it does have a few things that made me give this car a 4/5 review. I gave a 4 star review in the performance column and this is because for a V6 new car this baby can chug some gas. I would average 11.5MPG in the city and got up to about 13MPG on the highway, but the averaged MPG (like any car) is higher than the actual. Overall my favorite car I have ever owned I would recommend to any commuter who enjoys the occasional weekend excursion or needs something that can tow, but won't sacrifice on comfort.
