Definitely Going Honda again

I truly enjoy my first Honda. I would 'tweek' minor things such as the seats. The car is classy but has cheesy seat options - even in the top of the line leather. For the price I would have expected more as compared to the Dodge/Jeep equivalent. The interior is really designed well so the seats deteriorate that design. Love, love the bottle holders in all the doors. The efficiency is EXCELLENT!!! I average at minimum 26mpg both intown and hwy use. I shock everyone when I tell them it's a 4-cylinder...and have to prove it to most men once they drive or ride with me. All in all - I'm now a Honda fan. Oh and let's not go into the beautiful color choices they have.... wink.

Very uncomfortable suv

Seats are horribly uncomfortable too hard and cramped feeling and no seat controls no power poor gas mileage very rough ride, can feel every bump in the road has been reliable is the only good thing will trade it in soon. Very disappointing for a Honda can't believe all these other good reviews, they must be driving a different SUV

At Last, a Modest Work Horse

The CR-V drives like a truck, and isn't the most comfortable car I've driven, but it accommodates loads of plants from the nursery, allows me easily to haul a week's worth of groceries, and handles like a charm. Most surprising is the fact that it gets 30+ mpg on the highway -- something I discovered when I drove it 250 miles from my home to Santa Barbara, CA. That figure is far and above the 25 mpg suggested by the manufacturer. Add to that the fact that it's really an attractive vehicle, and you have a car that can serve your hauling needs, will save you $ at the pump, and will look cute while doing all of the above. I'm falling in "like" with my CR-V.

Good vehicle, noticeable mechanical annoyance..

We've had the crv for over a year now and am happy with it. The power is adeqate, the interior is roomy and the fit and finish are great. The interior fabric on the ex version is not up to Hondas usual standards, the floor mats are not up to standard either, somewhat disappointed here. The only major issue that continually annoys me is this: the transmission ratios. The crv is drive by wire so this needs to be considered also. The first 4 speeds are spaced just fine, no problem at all. Then comes 5th overdrive..... Well, it likes to shift into 5th around 50 mph under light load which ordinarily isn't a problem except the crv is only turning about 1500 rpm at that speed and nowhere on the torque curve. It lugs noticiably at 50 in 5th and the drive line isn't real happy. You notice that 50 mph is a common speed real soon and you can actually feel the loss of power when it shifts up. The 5th gear is very tall, you'll never see 3000 rpm on the tach (~100 mph) unless you have a pilots license. Don't get me wrong, it's great for high speed crusing but it gets darned annoying shifting up and not having enough power to accelerate at all until you get to 60+ mph. Try to drive it at 45-50 mph and you'll see what I mean, the drive train is "thrumming" all the while it's lugging down. You simply end up driving it a little aggressivly to work around this. If Honda would only program the trans not to up shift to 5th until 60 mph everything would be fine. Get about 28 mpg on the road and 23 in town. The AC compressor cuts out under seemingly light acceleration, an annoyance here in the desert. I took the crv to the dealer and they told me it is a normal finding and that the trans is shifting normally. Hmmmmm....

Best SUV on the road

Very pleased with my purchase I do wish the rear tail gate swung up like they have on the 2008 models ,but then you lose the nice space under the trunk floor. I live in Canada & get 35 mpg on the highway & about 24 in a small city. Nice smooth & pepy engine very nice handling & precise steering smooth braking I am quite tall so front seat could be a little longer to give better thigh support All in all it is a very nice vehicle to drive, hard to beat.

Not a perfectionist but willing to pop the bubble

After owning this vehicle for 6 months, I decided it was ok to speak my mind about my perceptions. I chose this vehicle mainly because of its body style and what I felt were really nice features. I got caught up in the moment. While I admit I was actually considering a Dodge Nitro before I discovered the 2007 CRV, I decided the Honda name and the so-called resale value was worth more than the Dodge. Now with a level head and an unbiased view I tell you this CRV is over rated. The inside interior feels cheap even with my heated leather seats. The arm rests are simple and hard. I tried cleaning the center console storage area with an Armor All general cleaning wipe and found that what I thought was dirt coming of onto the cloth was actually the plastic finish coming off the console and it is now discolored permanently at different places. The sound system is only adequate for a vehicle that cost this much. It has no subwoofer speaker. It would have if I was willing to pay the unfortunate difference for the navi system. When one pays this much for a vehicle you would think Honda would have at least included a luggage rack at no additional charge that would have accented the top. After all, I can purchase an after market for just over $200 on the internet. The front passenger seat has a manual pump for height adjustment but it can't be raised as high as it needs to be raised and the front passenger seat is much to low with no available adjustment for height. The air conditioner coil is seated low in the front of the vehicle in a "trap" area that draws rocks into it and yes my air conditioner coil was struck by a rock and had to be replaced. Guess what: Honda would not cover this $900 charge! Today I discovered that the front bumper was separating from the body of the car. It was fixed under the Honda warranty because the clips that hold the bumper in place are coming out on their own. But ....CHEAP! That's what I would have expected from the Nitro. Now worst of all is the road noise on the interstate. This all wheel drive vehicle sounds like the 1971 Toyota Corolla I once owned as my first car. Every interstate imperfection sounds like someone beating on sheet metal underneath the vehicle. This is either due to a terrible suspension with poor noise absorption or a car body tuned to road imperfections. This vehicle has 12000 miles.

I'm so glad I bought this car

Love this car. Replaced a Volvo Cross Country and thought I'd miss the luxury, but the EXL is so well-equipped that I don't really notice that it's a much cheaper car. (I certainly don't miss the time I spent in the repair shop with the Volvo!) Only 2 areas that could be improved. 1: I wish the gas tank were bigger -- I live in the country so I drive long distances and feel like I have to stop for gas a lot more often with a small 14 gallon tank. 2: I wish the 2007 had digital climate control so I could just set it and forget it (I think the 2008 does). Overall, this is a fantastic car that I know I can rely on for years to come. Would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Great Car But Uncomfortable Seats

I have had my CR-V EX for 6 months and overall it's a very solid, reliable car. My biggest complaint is that the seats (especially the driver's) are just not comfortable. I am of average height (5'5") and I have tried to adjust everything that's adjustable, in every way possible, but I never feel comfortable when I'm driving. I am also a bit disappointed with the gas mileage, (20 town/26 hwy) though with a 4 wheel vehicle, I suppose this is to be expected. Everything in this car seems to have been so well thought out, except the seats, which I think Honda went cheap on. (Hopefully, seats will improve for future models)

An Excellent Crossover

We were looking to upgrade from a compact sedan to a larger vehicle without sacrificing much on handling and fuel economy while improving on storage, comfort and reliability from our old sedan. The 2007 CR-V was the perfect fit and it has exceeded all our expectations. I highly recommend the CR-V for anyone looking for a step up from a compact sedan.

Great little "SUV"

took over 6 months deciding between the Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav-4 and the Hyundai Santa Fe....We did not like the spare tire on the back of the car, nor the radio antenna on the hood in the Rav-4. The Honda won out..even though the Santa Fe has the 5 year warranty bumper to bumper and is not a bad looking vehicle (Hyundai has come a long way in the past 10 years), the Honda was the better choice as down the road and in 5 years, the Honda will still be worth over 12K while the Santa Fe will be worth a lot less.
