Solid truck with some Transmission issues

I purchased my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited in 2019 with only 11km on the vehicle. So far I have mixed feelings about this truck. On one hand, it’s powerful, has respectable road manners for a leaf spring rear end and it looks great. On the other, It has had quite a few issues since I bought it new and it only has 102 000km (60,000 miles) on the odometer. The first issue that popped up was the emergency brake cable broke within a few months, under the factory warranty that was replaced. Second thing to go awry was much more serious and involved the transmission which after some research has had significant issues that are well known. The transmission started shifting very hard and eventually it failed to go into several gears. After two attempts to fix the problem once by replacing the torque converter and another by changing a solenoid I asked for the trans to be fully replaced with a new unit. The dealer did this under the 150,000km power train warranty the truck came with. Since this replacement transmission at 40,000km on the odometer it hasn’t had much in the way of problems until now, the check engine light came on and the engine misfired due to a EVAP vent valve solenoid failure. I think the fuel economy with my truck (5.3L V8 equipped with 4x4) is pretty impressive considering the power. It goes and hauls great when the transmission is working as it should and I love the look of the truck inside and out more than any other make or model in 2019. I would say if you are buying this truck be aware of the transmission issues and if possible get a Built transmission installed in the vehicle, with that said I think it makes a good workhorse 1/2 ton pickup
