Affected vehicles include model-year 2025-26 Taos SUVs. The fuel pressure sensor may dislodge or separate from the fuel tank in the event of a severe rear-end crash, increasing the risk of a fire.

To resolve the issue, dealers will install a fuel pressure sensor wiring harness extension for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 19, but those with further questions can contact the automaker at 800-893-5298 (VW’s number for this recall is 97TH), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
