Ford is recalling certain F-150 pickup trucks incorrectly repaired under a previous recall in February 2020 over an issue with the daytime running lights.

Affected vehicles include model-year 2018-20 F-150s. When the headlight switch is turned from “Autolamps” to “Headlamps On,” the daytime running lights may remain fully bright instead of dimming to parking lamps as intended. Daytime running lights that do not dim may reduce the visibility of other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

To resolve the issue, dealers will reprogram the body control module software for free. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 6. Those with questions in the meantime may contact customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (Ford’s number for this recall is 26C28), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
