Video: 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT: The Resurrection of the SRT-10

This is the new 2027 Ram Rumble Bee. I'm Aaron Bragman, Detroit Bureau Chief of cars.com, and I got a sneak peek of what might be the opening shot in the new street performance muscle truck wars. Wow. What is this? This is not a concept car. This is the new 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT. Ram is introducing a line of performance street trucks, all based on the HEMI V8. It's gonna start with the basic 5.7-liter, 395 horsepower V8, and then you can step up to the 392, the 6.4-liter version of the Ram Rumble Bee. First time they've ever put the 6.4 in the 1500 chassis. But this one? This is the Ram Rumble Bee SRT, and it brings back the 777-horsepower, supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat engine. That's right, folks. The muscle trucks are back, and they're finally not off-road Baja racers. But the changes to the Rumble Bee go a lot further than just engines. Does this truck look a little different to you in terms of its proportions? That's because this is the first time that they have put the quad-cab four-door, with these shortened rear doors, on the smaller chassis with a five-and-a-half-foot bed. So they've taken 13 inches out of the wheel base to make it less flexible and more stable. It's also got a seven inch wider rear axle and 22-by-12-inch wheels and tires, the widest wheels that they have fitted to a Stellantis vehicle since the Viper. But it also means it's got fender flares just like the TRX. That's why you've got those three lights up in the grille because it is so wide, it needs special marker lights. It's also got new aerodynamics. Up in front, you've got a new splitter, an air splitter for better aerodynamic control, cooling brake ducts in the front grille, and a functional spoiler on the tailgate. The suspension received attention as well with options for steel coil or air suspension. This SRT model has air suspension, which lowers the truck by one and a half inches, and it has new control arms and beefier stabilizer bars. And to put all the power down, all Rumble Bees have full-time four-wheel drive with a push button, front-axle disconnect, and an e-spool electronic differential on the 392 Track Pack and SRT models, all of which is good for tire smokey burnouts. Inside, all the Rumble Bees get a little bit different interior. This one being the SRT version, obviously, is going to get the luxe treatment, leather and suede seats, orange stitching throughout to match the painted engine block. You've got carbon-fiber trim, 12-way power seats. But all Rumble Bees are gonna get this flat-bottom performance steering wheel and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. Now, the interesting part about this is that they're gonna offer different interiors for lesser trim models. So the base 5.7-liter Rumble Bee is gonna have cloth manual seats and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. So hopefully that'll keep the cost down and make the Rumble Bee performance package a lot more accessible to a lot more buyers. Nice. We don't know pricing just yet for the new Ram 1500 Rumble Bees. That's gonna be coming closer to their on-sale date. The base 5.7 arrives late this year. The 392 and the SRT supercharged versions are coming in early 2027.
