I bought my 4 Runner new in 2001, it's now 2023 and still running strong. I think I have an emotional attachment to it at this point. The car has been with me almost 1/2 my life. The 2001 Toyota 4Runner is a great mid-size SUV. This SUV is great on and off road and is super reliable. My 4Runner is 17 years old with 225,000 miles. I purchased 8 years ago with 145,000 miles. I've really only had to change oil, brakes, tires and shocks. Largest repair so far were catalytic converters. There are two.
