Benchmark for Reliability

I've had my FJ since 2009, having now accumulating over 1,000 miles. The only fixes have been from modifications I've made (Front wheel bearings and CV boots). I still have the original battery! It's taken me here, there, and everywhere, and never left me walking. I used the 4x4 fairly frequently, and have even been on some trails that made me pucker some. Haven't owned a better vehicle...ever. The only downside is the gas mileage and small gas tank.

Always wanted one...now I've got one.

Over my first 1,600 miles I know I love it. The gas mileage is terrible, and mine needs some maintenance (hopefully not too much more), but that's what you get when you buy one with 247,000 miles on it. But for that many miles, it starts right up, drives like a champ, got me through a snow storm on my first day driving it, and drinks more gas than the US Army on Maneuvers! I don't plan on driving it tooooo much, and I bought the cheapest one I could find. Ask me in a week and maybe after its been to a mechanic I'll kick myself, but right now I like it as much as I knew I would.

A joy to drive on and off road.

I have loved driving this truck. It has met my needs and is fun to drive. It also is has been very reliable with no major repairs just normal maintenance. It?s only drawback is it rearward visibility is not the best but as long as you are aware of that issue it is not a problem. I like the FJ?s so much I am on my second one.
