If you're considering an FJ Cruiser: CHECK THE

If you're considering an FJ Cruiser: CHECK THE UNDERCARRIAGE! Frame rot is way more common than you think/know. Bought a 2008 2 years ago, still have 2 years payments left - garage informed me it will NEVER pass inspection again, frame is rusted beyond saving. Can't even sell for scrap/parts because the bank still holds the title. Shame, I love this car.

2007FJ Cruisers Should be Recalled for Chasis Rust

Chassis corrosion compromises structural integrity thus safety to passengers. Other undercarriage components have also been found to be prone to heavy corrosion including e brakes. Tacomas were also known for this defect and recalled for chassis replacement. In addition, rear differentials break and have to be replaced.

What a Blast to drive and rock solid.

I bought my 07 FJ with 100k miles on it. Great drivetrain, and am looking forward to it performing in the mountains of PA this winter. Already looking for a second one. Only issue, there was strange frame rusting in front and rear but nothing that a few hundred $ couldn't fix. I've talked to people who can't believe that Toyota stopped making these beasts! Hahaha. I'm one of them.

Bought new in 2007. It has been all over the US .

Montana winters ,blizzards in South Dakota , sand and heat in that South West . Hurricanes in North Carolina .This baby has been there and done that. It is stock 4x4 locking diff. No nothing extreme but always got the job done. Never left me stranded and never had to be pulled because I was stuck. It has 475,000 miles on the original engine and transmission ,still does not use any oil. And no It's not for sale.

Awesome in every way

The FJ Cruiser is hands down the best vehicle I’ve ever purchased. I’ve owned over 10 vehicles (mostly Jeeps - I’m never going back) and I’m in my late-20’s. The suicide rear doors are perfect for access to car seats and the fold flat feature is great for cargo space. Great safety and reliability ratings, as well. I purchased the 6-speed manual despite reviews of “problems” because the problems were all worked out in recalls in the first year or two. Zero regrets! (My wife loves it too!)

Most reliable car I’ve owned.

Best car ever! I’ve owned many cars and this is the first one I just can’t part with. I purchased my FJ first year the new ones came out in 2007. California car. I have 240,000 miles with no major issues. I’ve changed batteries, tires, spark plugs, head lights, turn signals and even the MAF. So easy I changed it myself. This car has been so reliable and has never let me down, I just can’t and don’t want to part with it. My husband and I are car lovers. We’ve owned and own muscle cars to Acura, Lexis, BMW, Chevy, Ford, Pontiac, Chrysler you name it! My car still looks like the picture above brand new!
