2020 Subaru Ascent consumer reviews

I’m a Japanese Auto fan - love the dependability of Japanese brands and the value they bring. Have owned Lexus, Infiniti, and Subaru’s. While Subaru’s have always had the best new car value followed by the best resale values used, they tended to be basic, dependable, functional vehicles. Ascent breaks that mold. The level of comfort and every day ease of drive and ride will match my wife’s Lexus with ease (we are both fighting to drive the ascent each day!!!). And while past subbies have been under powered, the ascent is down right peppy and light on its feet. I haven’t had it in snow yet. But I can tell you - this is by far the best car I’ve ever owned. And finally, the quiet interior plus the best stereo I’ve ever had in a car make it sound like a concert hall! Absolutely the perfect package. Any negatives? Not really. It’s a bit hard on gas - I’m getting around 18/19 mixed driving and 22 highway. But would I give up the peppiness for slightly better gas mileage. No!!! :) If you are looking for the perfectly balanced car - get the Subaru ascent!!

This car has so many safety features, it’s unbelievable!!!! It handles great and I’m really enjoying driving it. I would highly recommend this vehicle. Oh, and the roominess in side is to die for!!

Plenty of leg room in the back third row. Ronny and comfortable all over. Drives smooth with a right turning radius. I Love this car

I love this SUV. It doesn't seem as big as it is and drives beautifully. I love all the safety features but I am still not familiar with all of them. I have almost every bell and whistle available on a Limited and everything works perfectly.

We owed an Outback before, which was a very good car, but this car drives like a luxury car. Transmission is a lot smoother than the Outback that rev'd higher while shifting and this CVT feels more like a regular shifting tranmission and simulates 8 speed shifting. Plenty of power. Easy to drive and love the safety features and adaptive cruise control. Wife loves the car and 8 passengers. Great for family trips.

Car has a lot more room than you might think. Gives you that secure feeling like your in a much bigger car. Very quiet also. Here's were it separates itself from the other SUVs in it's class/it drives like a much smaller car-even fun to drive. Not wallowing or truck like. Engine pulls like a much larger engine/diesel like.

This is a very nice car. I have had it for about one month. I don’t like that the engine compartment is not well insulated. The engine seems very loud to me in the passenger compartment. The ventilated seats are very nice, however it, too, is very loud… When it is on, it sounds like the fan for the back heater is on high. With the steering wheel in a comfortable position for me, I cannot see the mph. The navigation system is fantastic.... easy to navigate and input information. I prefer the gas tank on the drivers side for safety when filling my tank..... but this one is on the passenger side. Overall, fantastic vehicle that just needs some noise reduction inside the cannon.

Great all wheel drive. Comfortable fit for three children. Technological features are great. The iSight technology does a great job adjusting to vehicle in front of you.
