our expert's take

What Is the 2025 Nissan Sentra?

The front-wheel-drive, five-seat Sentra is Nissan’s entry in the compact sedan class. All trim levels are powered by a 149-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Competitors include the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla

The Sentra offers 18.8 cubic feet of cargo space, according to Cars.com’s cargo measurements. You can see how it scored in our Car Seat Check here.

What’s New on the 2025 Nissan Sentra?

After a minor update for the 2024 model year, which included a styling face-lift and more efficient transmission, the Nissan Sentra is unchanged for 2025.

What Features in the 2025 Nissan Sentra Are Most Important?

Standard features include:

  • Push-button start
  • Cloth upholstery
  • 60/40-split folding backseat
  • 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity
  • Forward collision warning
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Lane departure warning
  • Blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert
  • Rear automatic braking
  • Automatic high-beam headlights

Available features include:

  • Heated side mirrors
  • Remote start
  • Power moonroof
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Power-adjustable driver’s seat
  • Quilted leather upholstery
  • Synthetic leather upholstery
  • Heated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • 8-inch touchscreen
  • Bose premium stereo
  • 360-degree camera system
  • Adaptive cruise control

Should I Buy the 2025 Nissan Sentra?

The Sentra faces stiff competition in the compact class — most of which have more driving personality, better fuel economy and alternative powertrain options but it’s an excellent dollar value with lots of advanced safety features standard. We like the Sentra’s ride comfort, no-nonsense controls and decent trunk space, but its handling and forward visibility could be better.

  • I really love my new car.

I really love my new car. This is the 3rd Sentra that I have had. It is really comfortable and is a very good-looking car. I haven't learned everything there is to know about the car but the reference guide is very helpful. My last car was a 2010 so there are some major differences in it but I am learning!
