Key Points

  • Pricing for the 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport starts at $26,955 (all prices include $1,745 destination charge).
  • No changes from the 2025 model
  • Up to 26 mpg combined

Don’t be confused by its name; the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport shares nothing beyond its name with the larger and more expensive Outlander. The latter is based on the Nissan Rogue, gets a new hybrid powertrain for the 2026 model year and is also available as a plug-in hybrid. The Outlander Sport is $5,000 cheaper, powered by a plain-old gas-burning four-cylinder engine and is unchanged for 2026.

Release Date and Pricing

The 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is on sale now. Full line pricing is as follows; prices include a Welcome Package that comes with the owner’s manual, floormats and touch-up paint, and higher trims come with a $240 tonneau cover:

  • 2.0 S: $26,955
  • 2.0 ES: $28,555
  • 2.0 LE: $29,455
  • 2.0 SE: $30,805
  • 2.0 Ralliart: $31,305
  • 2.4 SEL: $31,655

Trim Levels and Safety Features

Standard safety technologies on the 2026 Outlander Sport are limited to forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and automatic high beams. Rear parking sensors are optional on every trim level.

The entry-level 2.0 S trim rides on 16-inch steel wheels and includes LED head and taillights, rain-sensing windshield wipers and heated side mirrors. Inside are manually adjustable front seats, cloth upholstery, automatic climate control, four speakers, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

To that, the ES adds 18-inch aluminum wheels and LED foglights. It also gives buyers more exterior color options and a choice between a black or gray cloth interior.

The LE gets a sportier look with black finishes for the grille, side mirrors and wheels, as well as black upholstery with red stitching. It also gains heated front seats.

The SE ditches the LE’s black bits and adds keyless entry and starting, synthetic leather seat trim, two more speakers (for a total of six), blind spot warning, lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.

The starting point for the Ralliart is not the SE, but the LE. It doubles down on the black exterior trim with unique front and rear bumper trim, mud flaps, rocker-panel graphics and a black roof spoiler. In addition to the red stitching, it also gets a unique Ralliart start button.

At the top of the Outlander Sport lineup, the 2.4 SEL gets a larger, more powerful engine. It also builds on the SE’s comfort and safety features with leather upholstery and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

Powertrain Specs and MPG

A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is standard in most 2026 Outlander Sports. It makes 148 horsepower and 145 pounds-feet of torque and is teamed with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The outlier is the 2.4 SEL, which gets a 168-hp four-cylinder displacing 2.4 liters and outputting 167 pounds-feet of torque; the 2.4 SEL also has a CVT. All-wheel drive is standard on all trim levels.

Mitsubishi says that 2026 Outlander Sports with the 2.0-liter return the same estimated 23/29/26 mpg city/highway/combined as the 2025 model (official EPA ratings for the 2026 model are not yet available). The 2.4 SEL is rated at 23/28/25 mpg.
