Great
This is my 4th Jeep, I have had wranglers and Grand Cherokee's but by far this one is great. The 5.7 Hemi is amazing and saves a lot of gas. For the comfort and the feel of this Jeep its a step above the rest. I love the off road capability and the smooth ride that comes with a solid great vehicle. I would suggest this to anyone that needs room and dependable ride.

Extremely expensive to maintain
Great to drive - easy on gas, comfortable, excellent off road capabiltiies, but EXTREMELY expensive to maintian. In the 1.5 years i have owned this vehicle (I bought it new) I have spent over $3,000 in REGULAR maintenace - no new parts (no tires, no battery, no light bulbs, no windshield wipers, etc.) - just changing fluids. I just got a maintenance bill yesterday for $1,300 and all they did was change fluids (brake, transfer case, front & rear differential, standard oil change); not even an engine tune up and no transimisisons work - just regulr fluid change maintenance. I owned a 1991 Nissan Frontier which I bought new and put over 250,000 kms. on before I bought this Jeep, did the same type of driving, and in 21 years of ownership spent less than $3,000 in maintenace in 21 years (except for new tires, batteries , light bulbs and windshile wipers). The $1,300 bill I just paid did not include 2 new shocks in the rear (fortunately, covered by warranty) which the service guy said he had done on 2 other vehicles that week. I will have to get rid of this Jeep before the warranty expires. I shudder to think what repairs and maintenance will cost me when the warranty expires!! Too bad, because Jeep could have made a great comeback if they weren't so badly built.

Love This Jeep!
Purchased this car a little over a year ago. I got the Laredo X model with Nav, Command view, and a lot of other options. I love this car. I wouldn't trade it for anything at this point. Small rattle on the sunroof that I think i figured out is the small black partition.

Like my Jeep
My Jeep is a Limited model with the 3.6L V6 Penta Star engine, it's not super but an ok car, I would've gave it a 5 star rating if it had more power of course you can choose the optional 5.7L V8 Hemi engine but it costs more money which probably you can't afford just like I couldn't afford the V8.

Love My Jeep
V8 upgrade provides a great driving experience. Better gas mileage than advertised for highway commutes. Very comfortable ride all around.

Transmission slips, hydroplanes in rain
I purchased a new 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Overland Edition, with the Pentastar V6, about a year ago for $38,500 (cars.com advertised price). I sold it a month ago for financial reasons, but would recommend it for anyone in the market for a luxury SUV. My review is based on 12,000 miles of mixed highway/city drving in the DC metropolitan area, with a few long (800-2000 mile roundtrip) highway trips. Highlights: Comfortable ride Luxurious interior Decent gas mileage- 21 mpg overall, 24 mpg on long highway trips Smooth, quiet engine Complaints: Roof rail tracks require expensive aftermarket attachments to be useful, compared to vehicles with traditional roof rails. The 5 speed automatic transmission slipped occasionally when driving in heavy traffic. The Overland Edition, with 20 inch tires, hydroplaned frequently in heavy rain, especially when hitting puddles. The Uconnect phone was difficult to use (it frequently misunderstood my requests). It was also very annoying when it would ask "mobile, is this correct?" when the mobile number was the only one listed in the directory. I found myself yelling at the dashboard frequently, in an attempt to get the phone to understand my requests. When I did this, it would shut off, and I had to repeat the process. I have similar complaints about the voice activated GPS. The CD player requires that the touchscreen flip open to change CDs. If you receive a call while doing this, the touchscreen will suddenly close, and damage your CD . The CD player also skipped frequently when playing CDs burned from a computer. I can't comment on the 4 wheel drive system since I never really drove it offroad (other than a grassy parking area) or in snow. I was disappointed by the hydroplaning, and had read that the base model (Laredo) with smaller tires didn't have this issue. The 2014 models will have a new 8 speed automatic transmission, which hopefully won't slip. I think the 2011-2013 Grand Cherokees are the best looking SUVs on the road. Its a shame that Jeep is changing the styling for the 2014 models. They are very comfortable and luxurious, and the Overland Edition is a great value compared to other Luxury SUVs, but Jeep needs to work on the hydroplaning and transmission slippage.

GROWING CONCERNED
Overall I am pleased with my Overland. This is my first Jeep/Chrysler product I am becoming concerned with the overall quality of the build. At 20,000 miles it has already needed all 4 brake rotors replaced, water pump replaced, The sunroof has begun to rattle which they say they can't reproduce and now the remote start has failed saying the hood is ajar. I had heard Chrysler quality had improved from the old reputation but so far I'm not so sure.

Jeep GC Recommended
I purchased a 2012 Jeep GC with t ail rated package and have been very happy. I had one small repair early on and no other issues. I traded in a Toyota 4runner and the only thing I miss is the power rear window.

Lovin it!!!
All I buy are Jeeps so it wasn't too hard of a decision when I went looking over the summer. Purchased a new 2012 Grand Cherokee and have put about 3,500 miles on it so far. My only regret is that I don't get to drive it enough! Lovely styling and it handles like a luxury car, way smoother than any other Jeep I have ever had. The only thing I would recommend is to upgrade to the V8, as I have the V6 and it is a little sluggish on hilly terrain. But you really can't go wrong with this SUV.

1st Jeep, Very Satisfied
We bought our 2012 Laredo X in Dec 2011 and now have about 9600 miles on it and we love it. The styling is appeals to both men and women and it has the very capable four wheel drive system that Jeep is known for. The interior is nicely finished for what you pay for compared to other SUVs. The day we bought it we got 8" of snow so we got to test out the "Snow" setting right away and even with all-season Michelin tires the Jeep handled the snow with ease. For a V6 engine, it has good power. My Lexus IS300 can accelerate faster than our GC, but that is okay. I've never felt like the V6 was underpowered when driving it. The instrumentation and 430N nav stereo system are well set up and easy to use. The Voice Recognition actually works really well. I'm a little iffy on the quality of the leather seats so I'll have to watch them for wear and tear, but so far they are holding up well. The only features I wish the Laredo X had that the Limited/Overland include are: memory seat/mirror settings and HID headlights. I can live without them though.
