Great Vehicle

I absolutely love my Honda Pilot. It took my wife and I one test drive to fall in love with it. THe handling is wonderful. My wife loves small cars and has no problems driving the Pilot. The handling is great. The vehicle is very comfortable. We have taken it on several road trips and always have plenty of space to be comfortable while carrying luggage. We have also been able to make a 3 hour trip to IKEA and brought back a lot of furniture in the vehicle. Even with both back rows folded down and loaded up with furniture the Pilot had no problems kicking up plenty of power to accelerate around those drivers that want to drive slow but try to speed up to keep you behind them. The only negative with the vehicle is that you do notice how top heavy it is on the tight interstate exits, but that is me comparing it to my Accord. The remedy to this is simply slowing down. So far it has performed great in the winter weather but luckily I have not had any scares that have turned the safety features on. I bought it after talking to other Pilot owners who love their vehicle. I had my in-laws over for Thanksgiving and my father in-law is on his second 4Runner and was so impressed by our Pilot that he is looking at buying one himself.

600 mile trip

i am currently in montreal canda and i drove my 2006 pilot up here...it cost $60 to fill the tank and i got all the way here(350 miles) and still had a quater tank left. the gas mileage is great and it a comfortable suv to drive...if you want and need a good reliable suv get the pilot.

THE BEST AND THE MOST RELIABLE CAR THAT I HAVE

I REPALACE MY 1990 CHEVY SUBURBAN WITH 2006 HONDA PILOT EX-L. BAD EXPERIENCE WITH SALES MANAGER AND THE FINANCE PERSON. LANDMARK HONDA IN ALEXANDERIA VA. BUT EVERYTHING IS VERY WELL. WE TRAVEL A LOT. BIG CHANGE FROM BIG SUV TO MID SIZE. SO FAR VERY HAPPY WITH IT WE TRAVEL A LOT. GOOD GAS MILES, GOOD IN PERFORMANCE. BETTER THAN MERCEDES-BENZ 2007 GL 450 THAT I BOUGHT TO FOR MY WIFE.I USE IT A LOT FOR BUSINNESS TRAVEL ,LONG TRIPS WITH MY FAMILY SO FAR ALREADY PUT 132,000 MILES.

vehicle vibration a problem

After just picking up my new Pilot I thought the tires were out of balance as there was an annoying vibration when on smooth road almost at all speeds. I took back to dealer and was told they are all like that. I hope I can stand it for the next three years. Also seats uncomfortable and shifter in terrible spot along with wiper control. Engine is smooth however.

good car, low mileage, clean leather interior, drives well, several scratches on driver-side rear panel - no dent but paint is scratched off

Replaced Minivan

Bought new and drove 20K without any disappointments! See my July 2 (1st Review) and Nov 28 2006 reviews. I am getting good MPG at 65 MPH. Using Full Synthetic Oil. Honda's maintenance schedule is ok but expensive.

That is really a family SUV.

This SUV simply nice to drive, more than enough space, third row space not meant for kids. It performs powerfully, accelerates quite well. smooth to drive, the best in safety, and at the end it is Honda engine.

unbelievable!

Test every SUV on the market and the pilot is the best! tried the smaller and larger SUVs and the pilot is the most affordable and drives with luxury. It's not as loud as the nissan! It's larger than most of the toyotas! and it gets better gas mileage than both... and lets just forget about all the domestics - they aren't even close.

Good Buy

My parents purchased an '06 Pilot EX-L Navi in 2005 and it was an excellent buy. The Pilot's cargo volume is extraordinary with the third row folded flat. The clamshell design in the rear door helps fit awkward shaped things, which is very helpful. It is a great car to take to Costco. As for the driving experience, I'd have to say it could be better but it's a Pilot not an Acura MDX, so it's alright. The 244 horsepower VTEC is very responsive and helps the Pilot easily pass other bulkier SUVs on the highway. The Nav. system is very helpful and easy to use. The XM satellite radio and 6-disc changer are all simple to operate and sound nice witht he 7-speaker sound system equipped with a subwoofer. With the Nav. system comes a back-up camera mounted on the rear door. This is my favorite feature because it has saved me from much grief and unwanted repair costs. The ride quality in this car is great and cushy while still retaining a fair amount of rigidity. My only complaint is that the front passenger seat is not power adjustable. All in all, it's a great car for under $40K.
