Very good car

I average 32 mpg while driving both highway and city. This car has 123,000 miles with no engine problems and I had the timing belt changed at 90,000, and a major done also). Couldn't have had a better performing car.

Too many problems

Money pit. Honda was not there when asked about exhaust manifold problems. Third gear missed at times. Ate tires. The only good point was MPG.

Great Base Car

To start off, I've had a sedan LX automatic for about two years now, got it used. As a general overview, it's a little zip around car that gets good gas mileage. That being said, this car is reliable and you're not likely to have any problems with it as long as you are somewhat civil. The handling around corners is great, and it's a really nice car to have in a packed parking lot. The acceleration isn't that great, and it can be annoying going up steep hills, but the car is light enough that around the city and level areas it doesn't seem so bad. If you're after more performance out of the engine, there are plenty of performance parts available, as well as body kits and other customizations. The interior isn't as roomy as it could be, but unless you're 6'+ tall, you're probably not going to notice. The dash is easy to read, and it's comfortable to be in the car. There is a bit of road noise, and you'll notice that a bit more on the DX and LX, but it's not so much that it's noticeable. This car is a little low to the ground, and anything around 10 in. or taller will probably hit the car if you don't watch out. Overall, despite the lack of acceleration, it's a lot of fun to drive, and it's a great everyday car. Keep general maintenance up on it and be semi-civil with your driving and this car will last a long time.

Everything I expected

I've owned a used 2001 Civic Si for 2 years now and the experience has been amazing. I've owned used american vehicles of the same class in the past and the civic is far superior in terms of reliability and gas mileage. I have had no issues with the car. The car is now at 135,000Km and although I'm looking to change into something newer it's so hard to let go of a car that has been so reliable. That and the fact that I regularly get 13.3 km's per liter (32mpg). Keep in mind, I'm talking about a honda civic here - not a lamborghini. The car is pretty quick in the 5spd but I imagine it lacks a bit of acceleration in the automatic. Also, the vehicle can get a bit uncomfortable for long trips - i.e. 3hrs plus.

A Treasure

I bought this car second-hand, and have felt so lucky ever since. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it. The driver's seat is comfortable so I do not get tired on long trips. My oil change place always says everything is perfect. How could one ask for a more satisfactory car? Now I have had it for five years.

its Okay

I have a coupe lx automatic, it runs, everything is together. acceleration is a bit sluggish compared to a toyota Corrolla, is one of the nicer and upscale vehiceals in the econo-car market. ****BE WARNED**** around the 50 to 60 thousand mark, exspect to spend 1 to 2500 in maintaince and replacement parts for your honda. timing belt replacement $450, bushing and torstion bar replacement $850 for parts and labor, NOTE: This is normal wear and tear on the honda. corrollas are 3 to 4000 dallers cheaper and theres no timing belt repacement, it has a timing chain that has automatic adjusters. maintance is alot cheaper. and lost just and long as a honda. the civic it nice but its really not worth the extra 3 grand.

I LOVE my Civic

This car is better than we expected in every capacity. We drive for a living and a quality car is important. This 4-cylinder SOHC is super reilable and requires minimal maintinance to keep it running to perfection. Wear and tear is minimal, even with continual driving. Honda already has a great track record for constructing long lasting vehicles and we now know this first hand. Handling and performance are excellent for a car in this class and it's really a fun car to drive everyday. Brakes work well as long as they are maintanced regularly. The trunk space is amazing too! This car is a tremendous value and we look forward to owning this vehicle for years to come.

Just purchased used Civic

EX models has many nice features, including sliding moon roof. Replaced super cheap tires with Pirelli's, which improved the ride a lot. I'm hoping this car does well in the snow. Have never owned a Civic before but so far it seems very reliable.
