Dad get shafted

While my wife loved the car as a less expensive alternative of a car for our kids to destroy, I was excited that she wanted this car rather than the Audi A7 or BMW or other higher end luxury SUV with a 3rd row. And the kids love it as well. But what I wish I knew is that the passenger front seat has very little adjustments. So the dad sitting shotgun is the most uncomfortable person in the car. A daily reminder of why I should have spent the extra money and make sure I too enjoyed the ride.

I liked it during the 10 minute test drive

I traded in a small sports car and 2003 SUV for a 2011 Enclave. The Enclave is a nice looking SUV and not a bad buy, but the 2003 SUV was more comfortable. The Enclave gas mileage isn't as good as I expected. I'm a petite female. The 2003 SUV driver seat had several adjustments, including raising up and down, which the Enclave will not do. The side mirror on the Enclave blocks my view. I have to lean forward and backward and look around the mirror before pulling out into traffic. My teenagers say the back seats of the Enclave are uncomfortable. They miss our old SUV. The interior storage area is divided up. Useless. Not even room for a pair of sunglasses. My other SUV had a decent size console that opened. When I bring groceries home, I have to park outside the garage to unload the rear cargo area because the rear lift gate hits the garage door when the garage door is raised. The lift gate should have a position to stop before raising that high. During enclement weather, I have to cram all my groceries into the back floor board, which is very small, so I can pull into the garage to unload. If I could have test driven the Enclave for a few days, I would have brought it back. The Enclave isn't the SUV for me. I could have spent a few thousand dollars more and purchased a much more comfortable SUV with many more conveniences; one that I would keep for several years. We're already talking about getting rid of the Enclave after only having it a few months.

Gas Pig

As unbelievable as this is....I got better gas mileage with a 2005 Ford Expedition. My brand new 2011 Enclave get a lousy 13MPG around town. Additionally, the XM radio gets terrible reception, regardless of AM/FM or XM,. Disappointing.

AMAZING

Not only does this vehicle offer maximum space and comfort but the exterior is sexy like a chocolate strawberry. I would recommend this vehicle to any family with three or more children.

The Buick Enclave 2011

The Enclave is somewhat larger than our previous car. The Enclave is very sensitive to the slightest touch on the steering wheel. The Enclave purchased has 19 inch tires and this does cause some difficulties for older people to get into the car. The Enclave has only one accessory plug spot in the front, one in the middle and one in the lift gate area. In the past Buicks, there were 2 outlets in the front and this should have been continued. The Enclave has the traditional Buick ride which is second to none. The Enclave has the quiteness of a Buick. The controls on the steering wheel are convient, and the instrument panel is within easy access. Storage in the front is broken up with little cubbies and would have been better with a larger compartment rather than the several little ones. The Enclave purchased has leather seating which is to our liking. The Enclave purchased has a moon roof, for the front seat and a second for the middle row of seats. The openings are covered with a screen that slides out of the way. The front moon roof opens.

Enclave with two car seats

I've been driving this now for a few weeks with two car seats in it. We ended up with the Enclave because we didn't want a minivan! Everything is great except it's a little cramped in the second row getting around the convertible car seat. Really happy with it other than that1

Fantastic Car

My wife loves this vehicle. Handles great, fun to drive, and great for the family. We drive to NY from Cincinnati 3 x's a year with 2 little ones and couldn't ask for anything more. Tested the Traverse, Pilot, and MDX and the Buick was heads and shoulders above. Great Vehicle!

Very Good Car

The car rides well but the gas milage is suspect. Have not been able to crossover the 17 MPH because the car does not stay in the RPM range to save on gas. Alway changing. The auto lift gate is great but it would be a plus that you could stop it before it hits the garage door if you forget at open it when you pull into the garage.

I give it a 9 so far.

I've got the CXL FWD. Great looking interior. Lots of cargo space with the rear seats down. I wish the drivers seat bottom tilted back a bit more. Feels like I'm sliding foward at times. Handles well. Ride is very quiet but just a little stiff over bumps. Gas milage averaging about 17 mpg mixed driving. Battery tends to drain while parked for more than 6 days. Dealer says electrical system checks out ok. Engine and transmission are very smooth with more than adequate power. Very solid vehicle. Fit and finish is excellent but hood release control sometimes hangs up. I did my own oil change and the filter is a bear to get without spilling oil. On the turnpike cruising at 70mph is where this vehicle shines. I like the 4 year bumper to bumper warranty.
