There are many reasons to celebrate the end of the year and the turning 
 over of a new year. Well, unless you're one of the vehicles on this list that 
 won't be surviving to see 2019.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety finds half of 2018 models' 
 headlights are at least acceptable, up from just two systems in 2016. But 
 the best lights are mostly optional or relegated to higher trim levels.

VW expanded its 72,000-mile warranty, introduced earlier this year on the 
 new Atlas and Tiguan SUVs, to virtually all its 2018 lineup.
