Do not trust this shop! My brakes were functioning perfectly fine but the brake fluid light had come on a few times. The service team at Happy Hyundai of Libertyville told me my car’s ABS Module was leaking break fluid but it was under warranty and that my brake lines had no damage whatsoever. Then tried to charge me for a brake fluid flush which is part of replacing the abs module and should not be charged separately. Then they said my break pads were so low it was dangerous for me to drive and I needed brakes and rotors and recommended a bunch of other services that did not need to be done for a total of $1400. When I refused the other services including the brake pads and rotors they tried to refuse a loaner car after they said it was dangerous for me to drive my car. I have since changed the brakes on my own and they had half life left and in no way needed to be done. My car was in their shop for four weeks and six days. After the car was there for three weeks they all of a sudden claimed that my break lines were damaged. I went to see the car with my own eyes and they clearly took a rotary tool to a brake line and caused a massive leak while my car had been in their shop and tried to make me pay for new brake lines which would have cost me $1500. Do not take your car here for service.

Safety issues lack of concern for customers I have previously given this dealer several 5 star reviews. We purchased the vehicle new in December 2023. We also purchased the “special VIP” pack that guaranteed priority services and loaner vehicle. Unfortunately something has changed significantly at Happy Hyundi of Libertyville. We brought our vehicle in for service and it was found to have a broken coupler. The part needed to be ordered, which is understandable. The vehicle is 2 years old with 28k miles so it will be covered under warranty to a limited degree. They will replace the broken coupler but we must pay for the alignment that is needed after warranty work. My wife asked if it was safe to drive and was told yes no issue whatsoever. The problem seemed to be getting worse. When we researched broken coupler all sources said do not drive and it is a safety issue. After several phone calls to the dealer they agreed to send us loaner car and they would “drive” the Palisade back to the dealership. The porter was to have the vehicle to our house no later than 10 am the next morning. We received a phone call at 9:a 45 asking if we wanted to reschedule the drop off because the driver was stuck in traffic with the car. We said no as we needed the car. 1 1/2 hours latter he showed up at the house. The car was filthy dirty, see pictures. Again after several calls and to the dealership and several hours we were able to get a replacement vehicle that was at least washed and vacuumed. They extreme lack of detail and concern for safety issue unacceptable. Additionally this dealership must be restricted on the number of phone calls they are allowed to place because they very rarely return phone call. It seems calls to the sales managers help to get any movement or resolution.

This place claims to offer a price match guaranty and requires you to come to their dealership with the written offer. I felt a scam coming, so I refused to come in but provided them the written offer, and they (of course) refused to match it. When I held their sales manager Abel accountable to hold up their end of their promise, he accused me of bullying him and claimed the offer I had wasn't valid because it wasn't signed. I sent them the signed offer to no response. This is a dealership that gives car dealers a sleazy reputation, which is shameful since so many dealers are honest, hard working people. I would not recommend working with this dealership.

Just left dealership after my first and last visit. Staff pleasant. Had $400 of maintenance performed, and in the few minutes since I left the place, all seems well. So, why won't I be back? Because when I tried to pay with a credit card they wanted to charge me a 3% fee! I was shocked and asked whether other people complained. I was told that plenty do complain. Do they care? No. Glad I had a check on me, because there was no way I was going to incur a fee to these greedy b***s for the privilege of paying them. Used to be a violation of your terms of service with the credit card companies to employ cheap, anti-customer tactics like this.
