My husband and I have been leasing cars from Louis Bilous at Smithtown Toyota for over twenty years. Lou always listens to what we want and provides exactly what we've asked for - no games, no shenanigans, just excellent service. While any salesperson would know the bullet points for the vehicles they're selling, Lou is an enthusiastic "car guy" who can answer the more detailed questions when you are looking at three vehicles and you don't know which to choose. When it comes time to trade in and re-lease, it's ALWAYS a pleasure to see Lou. We are never rushed, he always has something nice to say and little ones - human or furry -- are welcome. If that's not enough for you, he's funny! Never a hard sell, never pushy, never impatient. Poor Lou, I ask a lot of questions before I make a three-year commitment. He answers all questions and he's never steered us wrong. Lou, please don't retire before we stop driving. I won't know who to turn to. Thank you for being that rare thing - a really good guy. If you've been to a few dealerships and you haven't liked the vibe, please give Lou and Smithtown Toyota a chance. Seriously. They're a cut above the rest.

Smithtown Toyota is the best dealership, and always has been. This was my 4th car purchase experience there. When you walk in you feel the difference. Everyone is professional, calm, friendly, and genuine. There is a feeling of honesty and trustworthiness. Our salesman, Steve, was knowledgeable, patient, and understanding of my situation and what I was looking for, and found exactly what I wanted. I was able to take it home the following day. Kyle (insurance) and Rocky (finance) were also fantastic. They were both friendly and efficient. I'm very grateful to have had such a great experience buying a new car, stress free!

On December 9, 2025, my 81-year-old mother went to Smithtown Toyota for a routine front brake repair. She had been widowed for less than ten months. Instead of just fixing her brakes, the staff kept her at the dealership for five hours without offering her food or water. While she was physically exhausted, they transitioned her from a service customer into a sales target. The staff reviewed her 2018 RAV4 title and insurance, which still bore my late father's name, and used her lapsed registration to create anxiety. They stripped the equity from her low-mileage RAV4 Hybrid, giving her only $11,000 for a vehicle with a CarMax cash offer range of $17,600 to $19,000. They then locked her into a lease for a base-model 2026 Corolla capitalized at $32,288, which is nearly $8,000 over MSRP. Finally, they extracted an additional $1,700 in cash from her at signing. Our family has been buying cars from this exact dealership since 1983. If you have elderly parents, do not let them visit this dealership alone. I have the paperwork to back up every single one of these numbers.

Hello Lauren, I received your response to my DealerRater review. While I am glad you are finally reaching out, it is incredibly disappointing that it took a public review exposing how a senior customer was treated for my mother's concerns to be taken seriously. That being said, if Smithtown Toyota is genuinely committed to reviewing this transaction and supporting its customers, I am willing to discuss a resolution. However, because it took public visibility to get this response, I require all further communication regarding her 2018 RAV4 trade-in and the 2026 Corolla purchase to be kept in writing. This will ensure we have a clear and accurate record of our communications moving forward. I have all the contracts and numbers in front of me. Please let me know what specific steps and financial adjustments Smithtown Toyota is prepared to offer to rectify this situation. I look forward to your written proposal on how you intend to make this right. You already have my email address from the formal demand letters I sent via certified and registered mail regarding this exact situation on December 29, 2025.
