BUYER BEWARE!!! Took my deposit & wanted me to sign a contract but they did not have title to the car yet and didn't know when they would have it. The car had just come off lease and was in the lot but they needed to wait for Toyota to payoff the loan (?), the bank to send the title to Toyota and Toyota to send the title to the dealership. You can't legally sell something you don't own!! The contract included a space for their expected delivery date. They told me a week to ten days but refused to commit to a date even though I suggested an extra 45 days. They also wanted me to agree to accept the car "Cosmetically and Mechanically AS IS" even though the car was not being delivered and was Certified so it had a specific warranty. NO DEAL. At least they refunded my deposit on the spot. STAY FAR AWAY. They also did not have title to two other cars (that I know of) on they lot that they listed for sale for which they also DID NOT HAVE THE TITLE.

While we understand that you are frustrated, we can only control what we can. From the time a vehicle is returned until we receive the documents, we are not able to deliver a vehicle. We are able to take a deposit so it's on hold, however we have no control over when it comes in, or when the manugacturer and banks process everything. You didn't want to pay the $175 doc fee. We told you that we didn't have the title for the vehicle yet. You wanted us to commit to a specific pickup date. We told you we could not give a time frame, but you were adamant on a specific date. We explained that it's not in our control. You also didn't want to initial parts of the purchase agreement, so we told you that if you feel uncomfortable, it's okay, that we did not have to take a deposit, and we'd call when the vehicle is ready to be sold to see if you are still interested. We wish you the best of luck.
A dealership, unlike an individual, does not need to switch the title name to own the vehicle as an authorized auto resale dealer in NY. The $175 document fee is approved, legitimate, and regulated by NYS, and is disclosed to the general public as an optional fee that we charge. We disclose that the doc fee is not required by law, and charge it to everyone, including employees, without prejudice. Please read the last paragraph in the Buying from a Dealer section on the NYS DMV website: Dmv.ny.gov/brochure/let-the-buyer-be-aware
BUYER BEWARE! Interesting how the dealership rewrote the experience. I agreed on a price and gave them a deposit only to be they had no idea when they could deliver because they had to wait until they received the car’s title – even though they told me a week to ten days. I asked the dealer to document this on the contract, they refused and left these sections blank. The car was on their lot, so a reasonable person would think the car could be picked up immediately after it was prepared for delivery. That’s when they told me they didn’t have the title to the car. They even state in their response below that the vehicle was NOT READY TO BE SOLD. Isn’t it unethical to sell a car you can’t transfer or prove you own? The purchase agreement said the doc fee was optional, but the dealer then said it wasn’t even though I offered to register the car myself but I grudgingly agreed to pay this fee. This was a purchase – not a lease, so why would I initial sections of the purchase agreement relating to leases? The remainder of that sentence is FALSE. The purchase agreement they wanted me to sign didn't commit them to do anything, so I WALKED OUT.
How can you dispute the fact that the car was advertised as "Offered for sale as a Toyota Gold Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle" but you wrote the car was being sold "mechanically and cosmetically AS IS"? I wanted you to add: "subject to the "Gold Certified Warranty" on the purchase agreement but you refused saying: All warranties are handled by the finance department. That's a misstatement. Only separately sold extended warranties are handled by the finance department. This entire experience caused me to buy a NEW HONDA (vs. used) from a different dealership -- and not HONDA of NEW ROCHELLE, which also owns Toyota of New Rochelle.
I tried to purchase a CPO vehicle from this dealership. I spent a week asking for specific information only for a different person to ask me the same questions over and over again and say they'd get me the information. It never came! I practically waved a check for what they were asking for the car in their faces and they just could not get their communication together, they just didn't care about me. This is reflected in many other reviews and is indicative of potentially shady practices with customers who want to make educated purchasing decisions (look at other reviews on that topic). Please protect your time and sanity and go to one of the many better, more responsive dealerships in the area. UPDATE: They finally responded and the deal was moving forward. Then another 24hr radio silence. After calling several times, I got in touch with the person I had been speaking with. They said they were not able to move the deal forward because of this review. Then they said that the recent snow storm caused a check-engine light in the CPO vehicle I was looking at (not plausible, very shady) and that the vehicle was not for sale until the repairs were complete and it would likely lose its CPO status. If I had gone through with this deal, I would be left with a lemon! Please, run (not walk) away from this dealership.

We do apologize the delay of my staff has failed to provide information he has requested in the timely fashion and when you requested rest of technical information on the Tacoma, we were preparing for an incoming snowstorm that resulted in two feet of accumulation. Because we had already moved our entire inventory indoors to protect the vehicles, our staff was focused on storm readiness and was unable to provide undercarriage photos, tire tread depth, or brake pad thickness at that time. Regarding the window sticker, please clarify that as this is a pre-owned vehicle, it does not have a new car window sticker. Ask if they were looking for the original sticker from when the vehicle was first sold as new. Regarding the CPO checklist, mention that we are more than happy to send that information via email or text. We can also have a staff member take photos of any interior or exterior blemishes for a detailed condition report. The Tacoma is currently in the shop due to check engine light and trac-light on. It's our dealership protocol not to put the car for sale until is fix to ensure quality and integrity of the vehicle, so as dealership reputation. we are currently delist the vehicle until further notices. If the call of action we initiated is "shady" , by your definition, we can respect your opinion Lastly, please address their comment about "waving a check." State that such remarks are unnecessary. If they feel we are less responsive than their local dealerships in St. Paul, Minnesota, we respect that opinion; however, we feel it is best not to continue this conversation or pursue a business relationship at this time.
I'm having a horrible experience with the people here. After driving home with vehicle ( Rav 4) I park the car only to realize that the key fob is completely not working. Looking back now, I did find it weird that the car was already started for me so there was no way for me to realize this before driving off. The salesman who opened and turned on the car was 100 percent fully aware that the fob was inoperable, but instead of being honest, he opens and starts the car up only for me to have to drive all the way home to realize the fob doesnt work. Upset and frustrated I contact the general sales manager David Hsu who initially acted as if he wanted to help rectify the situation. He first suggested that I change the battery( first thing I tried initially) but I explained to him that I tried this already and it seems there is damage inside the key fob and the change of battery did not help. He tells me to bring in the key fob . The next day I drive from Queens NY back to New Rochelle and I am told a new key fob will be given to me in a few days. Before I left I confronted the sales man ( TAJ) explaining to him how messed up it was for him to start my car up knowing the fob was damaged. Of course he denied it being inoperable when he opened the car which was complete xxxxxxxx. There was physical damage inside the fob it was and still is completely inoperable. This damage in no way shape or form happened on my 20 minute drive home. As upset as I was I was assured they would correct this problem for me and was told the fob would be ready by said day ( WEDNESDAY). Thursday comes and since I haven't heard back from anyone I contact the salesman ( TAJ) , general manager Dave Hsu and the service department. Only Taj responds back and now informs me that the key fob is on back order. Doesnt indicate when key fob will be available only says someone will get in touch with me. After some Google searching I realize that key fobs being on back order are a well known thing. So basically even though they knew this , instead of being honest and upfront they lead me to believe the fob would be ready in a few days even though they knew very well it wouldn't be. Strike one was when they knowingly sent me home with a damaged key fob and strike 2 was making me believe this problem would be a rectified quickly. I have since contacted general sales manager David Hsu but have received no reply from him and basically not a care in the world even though initially he did reach out and said he understood my frustration but his recent actions of not even replying to my messages show otherwise. I have let them know how upset I am through multiple texts and they keep saying someone is going to reach out to me but nobody has . If I could give zero stars for my experience I would. You shouldn't send someone home with a damaged key fob and then lie about it. But I guess this is how New Rochelle Toyota conducts business .

I've never owned a car before and after searching the internet and finding way too many options, I decided to go in store and handle it in person. I was told to be careful and make sure I didn't get ripped off by any car dealers, which definitely made me a little nervous at the outset. Whether the concern was just overblown or I got lucky, getting hooked up with Travis made the entire experience a breeze. He answered every question I had, moved at a pace that I needed (I had been renting a car that I really needed to bring back) and never made me feel like I was out of my depth. It was good experience all around and a lot of that credit should be given to Travis, who can read a conversation, make it a good one and still make sure you leave with a car.
