BEWARE: Deceptive pricing, forced add-ons, and hostile

BEWARE: Deceptive pricing, forced add-ons, and hostile management. I placed a $2,000 deposit with Lexus of Manhattan two months ago for a GX. My sales advisor, Tommy Stewart, misled me by trying to force a $1,500 mandatory dealer add-on that wasn't agreed upon, and told me they would only waive it if I financed through them instead of paying cash. When I preferred to wait two days to handle the financing application in person, the Sales Manager, Nick Hernandez, called and literally accused me of fraud for not giving him my info over the phone, despite having my drivers license, my debit card info, and my deposit. He then told me my deposit "didn't mean anything" and refused to hold the car for 48 hours until my arrival. When I requested my deposit back since they were no longer holding the car, they stalled my refund and said they “lost the receipt”, and then stopped replying me. What was supposed to be an easy transaction has turned into a massive headache as I desperately try to reclaim my $2000 deposit. Avoid Tommy Stewart, Nick Hernandez, and this dealership at all costs. They will hold your deposit hostage and use bullying tactics to force you into financing, and sell your car before you even get the chance to see it. Buyer beware.

We had a fantastic experience buying a car from Lexus of Manhattan. They have the cars that you want and an amazing team to sell these cars to you. This may seem like a sales pitch for the dealership but I have bought many cars in my lifetime and this was one of the most amazing experiences in doing so. Raymond Liang is really a very knowledgeable and charismatic salesperson to deal with. He loves his job and it shows. When we got to the dealership he took us for a test drive of the NX350h and during the test drive he explained alot of the workings of the car. When we decided to purchase the car he made the deal very easy to do and took care of getting us up to speed on everything that we needed to do the deal. When we got to the dealership to pick up our car he sat with us in the car for an inordinate amount of time explaining in great detail the total workings of the car. I have never had a salesperson spend that much time with me teaching me about a car. The finance guy Rich Velija was a real gentleman. We really didn't feel any pressure when he explained the different maintenance and extended warranty options to us that were available for purchase. He helped us get a better loan percentage thru Lexus Finance than we had gotten thru another bank. We also had a chance to meet Nick Hernandez; a sales manager there who was a pleasure to talk to. All in all I think this was one of the most enjoyable times we've had in purchasing a car.

Had an amazing experience with Raymond Liang at the Lexus

Had an amazing experience with Raymond Liang at the Lexus of Manhattan. From the moment of walking through the front door. To the moment of driving down the ramp and onto NYC’s streets in our brand new RX350, we had nothing but the best experience with the professional staff of Lexus of Manhattan. We couldn’t have asked for a better car better service or a better deal. The fact that there’s a Toyota dealership on the same floor, made it so much easier to understand how big of a benefit it is to go with Lexus, while keeping reliability of Toyota. Will recommend to all of our friends.
