Gateway Kia is a terrible buying experience!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! They are extremely difficult to work with, employ frustrating sales tactics... anything to get you into their building. They keep changing your salespeople, often with very junior people who are not well-educated on the cars they are selling. It took me 48 hours to get return phone call, and they didn't even have the correct information, from my visit in the showroom. They give multiple excuses on why they cant give you a price or "discuss negotiations". Everyday the story changes... all part of the old-school "high-pressure sales tactics" at Gateway Kia, North Brunswick NJ. In short, if you intend to comparison shop or even try and get a fair deal for your new car purchase/lease... Gateway Kia is a terrible buying experience! You may have better luck with nearby Raceway Kia or Sanasone Kia... it can't be any worse.

Gary Kelliher

We lucked out. When I drove up to the showroom, Gary was the sales person who actually opened the showroom door and came out to greet me. In summary, it was the beginning of a "beautiful friendship." He and I spent a lot of time discussing car selection, options, pricing etc. In the process, he gave me all the time needed during 4 visits and answered all questions thoroughly and with caring. His low key and professional demeanor contributed our decision to purchase not one but 2 new cars. To me, he is the epitome of what I consider a great car salesman to be.

FAKE TIRE ROTATION

Just had my oil change and tire rotation. Asked them to find the slow leak in my tire because I have to fill it with air about once per week. They couldn't find the leak but the worst part is I paid for a tire rotation and guess what? The low tire pressure light came on today and IT WAS THE SAME TIRE!! THEY DIDN'T EVEN ROTATE MY TIRES THAT I PAID FOR! NOW I CAN'T TRUST THEY DID ANYTHING ELSE I PAID FOR EITHER!!!! DID THEY EVEN CHANGE MY OIL?

Highly recommend this dealership!

My Review of Gateway Kia of North Brunswick Pamela Gray 9/19/2018 Reason For Visit Sales (New) "Highly recommend this dealership!" First and foremost, Sean Lynch is the Salesman to see! I needed a larger vehicle as I frequently drive my three grandchildren around at the same time. I was already in a KIA Soul and loved the car. The size was just not working. I was just about 1/3 of the way through my financing, so we were pretty sure we wouldn't be able to trade up. My husband was approached by Sean upon hi arrival at the dealership. Ethan liked him right away. He was easy to talk to, not pushy and willing to understand where we were coming from. Within minutes, Ethan was driving a Sorento. It was perfect, three rows of seats and back up cam, plus a few extras. When I got there, Mr. Lynch was equally cordial, and was happy to tell me that a car was on the horizon! But...... I didn't like the color! Sean immediately got on the phone to the surrounding dealers and promptly found the interior and body colors I wanted. We had plans for the evening, so Sean offered to drive our new car to our house, so that we didn't have to stay and wait. Our beautiful new Sorento was waiting in our driveway upon our return! Thank you Sean Lynch for making a very good car dealership into an awesome place to purchase your new car! You must check it out and ask for Mr. Lynch! Bait and Switch

After a test drive, was quoted a starting price along with dealer incentives and discounts. The quoted price was $4,000 over sticker — but “you will receive $6,000 back” according to Tom Lake. I asked what the $6,000 was for and Tom could not provide an answer. He mumbled stuff like mud flaps and free oil changes for the first year. I asked how can oil changes be free if you’re charging me $6,000 over MSRP for them. Tom had no answer so I would NEVER buy a car here. Price may be the same or higher elsewhere but I won’t purchase anything from teams that appear un-reputable!
