How Much Is the 2027 Nissan Armada?
What Car Shoppers Need to Know
- The 2027 Nissan Armada is a full-size three-row SUV with seating for seven or eight.
- On- and off-road performance versions are available (NISMO and Pro-4X, respectively).
- Pricing starts at $66,565 (including destination).
Nissan redesigned its aging Armada in 2025, vaulting the full-size three-row SUV from the back of the class in terms of design and technology to the front. A twin-turbocharged V-6 engine replaced the V-8 of the previous generation, increasing output by 25 horsepower and a whopping 103 pounds-feet of torque. The Armada’s generous list of standard equipment and a lineup that includes the NISMO on-road performance trim as well as the off-road-focused Pro-4X earned it honors as Cars.com’s Best SUV of 2026.

What’s Changed for 2027?
In recent years, Nissan has been rolling out black-accent packages across its lineup. First were the Midnight Editions, but those are now limited to the brand’s cars. For 2027, Dark Armor replaces the previous Armada generation’s Midnight Edition, but the specifics are similar. Based on the entry-level SL trim, the Armada Dark Armor gets black wheels, badges and exterior accents, as well as dark trim in the cabin.
Fuel Economy
A twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 is the only engine available in the 2027 Armada. It generates 425 hp and 516 pounds-feet of torque in every trim level except the NISMO, where it is tuned to deliver 460 hp. (Regular gas will suffice in other trim levels, but Premium is required in the NISMO.) The V-6 is backed by a nine-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is optional on the base SL trim, while 4WD is standard for the rest of the lineup.
| Trim | Powertrain | City MPG | Highway MPG | Combined MPG |
| SL (2WD) | 425-hp, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6; nine-speed automatic | 16 | 20 | 18 |
| SL, Platinum, Platinum Reserve (4WD) | 425-hp, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6; nine-speed automatic | 16 | 19 | 17 |
| NISMO (4WD) | 460-hp, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6; nine-speed automatic | 16 | 19 | 17 |
| Pro-4X (4WD) | 425-hp, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6; nine-speed automatic | 15 | 18 | 16 |
Note: The fuel-economy figures listed above are manufacturer estimates; EPA-rated figures are not yet available.
Interior Features
Every 2027 Armada trim level gets standard second-row captain’s chairs for seven seats. A middle bench that bumps the headcount to eight is optional on every trim level except the NISMO.
With its price tag in the mid-$60,000s, even the entry-level Armada SL is generously equipped. Inside, it features synthetic leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel and three-zone automatic climate control. Cabin tech includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen, navigation, Amazon Alexa Built-In, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging and a 12-speaker sound system. Exterior highlights include 20-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting front and rear, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a power liftgate, a Class IV trailer hitch and wiring, keyless entry and start, and remote start.
Step up to the Platinum and you also get genuine quilted leather, ventilated front seats with additional adjustments and heated second-row seats. Both the instrument cluster and infotainment displays are enlarged to 14.3 inches, and the Platinum also gets in-car and dash cameras. Exterior upgrades include LED foglights, a dual-pane panoramic moonroof and a hands-free power liftgate.
For capability away from the pavement, the Pro-4X sports adjustable-height air springs and adaptive dampers, a locking rear differential, all-terrain tires, a skid plate and a unique front bumper for an increased approach angle. It also features red tow hooks, a full-width LED bar bridging the taillights, black fender flares and an integrated trailer-brake controller. Otherwise, the Pro-4X’s standard equipment parallels that of the SL, although the Platinum’s upgraded front seats, heated second-row seats, panoramic moonroof and hands-free liftgate are optional.
At the opposite end of the performance spectrum, the NISMO also rides on air springs and adaptive dampers, but here they are tuned for better on-road performance. Black 22-inch wheels, body-color fender flares, sporty front and rear bumpers with red-orange trim, and a roof spoiler distinguish the NISMO. Inside, it roughly mirrors the Platinum, except it trades the front seats’ ventilation for massage. The NISMO’s cabin is upholstered in exclusive black suede and features aluminum pedals.
At the top of the lineup, the Platinum Reserve includes all of the luxury features from lesser Armadas — plus the only heated, ventilated and massaging front seats — with the air springs, adaptive dampers, 22-inch wheels and LED taillight bar from the Pro-4X.
Standard safety features across the Armada family include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind zone steering assist with trailer coverage, lane-centering steering, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, a driver-attention monitor, road-sign recognition and automatic high beams. A 360-degree camera system and front and rear parking sensors are also standard.
Additional safety technologies include an upgraded 360-degree camera system — standard on every trim above the base SL — and a head-up display that is optional on every trim level. Nissan’s hands-free ProPilot Assist 2.1 semi-autonomous driving tech is optional on the Platinum Reserve only.
Versus the Competition
Most of the Armada’s rivals are powered by turbocharged V-6s now, with only the GM twins — Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon — still beating the V-8 drum (although both GMs are also available with a diesel inline-six.) In this class, only the Toyota Sequoia offers standout fuel economy thanks to its standard hybrid powertrain.
| Model | Powertrain | Starting Price | City/Highway/Combined MPG | Max Towing Capacity (Pounds) |
| 2027 Chevrolet Tahoe LS | Gas, RWD | $63,995 | 15/20/17* | 8,400 |
| 2027 Ford Expedition Active | Gas, RWD | $66,395 | 16/23/18 | 6,000 |
| 2027 Nissan Armada SL | Gas, RWD | $66,565 | 16/20/18* | 8,500 |
| 2026 Toyota Sequoia SR5 | Hybrid, RWD | $67,920 | 21/24/22 | 9,520 |
| 2027 GMC Yukon Elevation | Gas, RWD | $72,695 | 15/20/17* | 8,400 |
