How Does the 2027 Genesis GV90 Compare to Other 3-Row Electric SUVs?

Genesis, the luxury branch of the Hyundai-Kia conglomerate, finally has its own electric SUV. But the all-new 2027 GV90 won’t exactly compete with those brands’ three-row EVs. With rear-hinged coach doors and a wood floor in the range-topping Neolun trim, the GV90 is in a class apart.

Versus Related Alternatives
While the GV90 is the third electric three-row SUV from the companies, it shares little beyond the basic concept of a three-row EV with the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9. Riding on a unique platform, the GV90 is roughly 10 inches longer than its siblings, with a wheelbase that stretches about 5 inches longer than either the Ioniq 9’s or EV9’s.
The GV90 boasts a larger battery pack and standard dual-motor AWD with 657 hp, and it’s sure to be significantly more expensive. While Genesis has not released official pricing yet, we’re expecting it to start north of $100,000. The 2026 EV9’s base price is $56,545 and the 2026 Ioniq 9’s $60,605, while the range-topping trims start at $73,545 and $78,140, respectively (all prices include destination charge).

Versus the Competition
The Ioniq 9 and EV9 only provide some of the context for the GV90, however. As a Genesis, the GV90 courts a wealthier demographic. With its rear-hinged coach doors, four-seat cabin with front seats that swivel 180 degrees, a wood floor with radiant heating, and available stone trim, the range-topping GV90 Neolun offers trappings that not even Rolls-Royce or Bentley have put into an EV yet. In its standard form, however, the GV90 will square off against a more attainable class of luxury EV.
