Affected vehicles include model-year 2023-25 Malibus. The rearview camera in these vehicles may appear distorted or blank, reducing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash when backing up.
To resolve the issue, dealers will replace the rearview camera for free. GM will begin notifying owners May 18, but those with further questions in the meantime can contact the automaker at 800-222-1020 (GM’s number for this recall is N262551720), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
