Affected vehicles include model-year 2025-26 Santa Cruz pickups and Tucson, Tucson Hybrid and Tucson Plug-in Hybrid SUVs. Software in the front cameras may activate the forward collision avoidance system prematurely and cause the vehicles to brake unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
To resolve the issue, dealers will update the front camera software for free. Hyundai will notify owners July 17, but those with further questions can call the automaker at 855-371-9460 (Hyundai’s number for this recall is 302), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
