Hyundai and luxury arm Genesis are issuing a recall for more than 294,100 vehicles over an issue with the front seat belts.

Affected Hyundai vehicles include model-year 2023-25 Ioniq 6 electric sedans and model-year 2024-26 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Hybrid SUVs. Affected Genesis vehicles include model-year 2023-26 G90 sedans. Due to a damaged snap-on anchor, the driver and front-passenger seat belts in these vehicles may not be sufficiently secured to the seat frame and may not effectively restrain an occupant in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

To resolve the issue, dealers will inspect and reinforce or replace the seat belt anchors for free. Owners will be notified June 5, but those with further questions can call Hyundai at 855-371-9460 (Hyundai’s numbers for this recall are 298 and 032G), Genesis at 844-340-9741, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
