So one of the biggest questions we get at cars.com is, just how big is the new Acura ADX? It's coming out as a 2025 model, as the entry-level crossover, slotting below the RDX, basically the SUV equivalent of the Integra.
But we can rattle off specs all day. It's got 55.1 cubic feet of cargo space if you put the rear seats down. Blah, blah, blah. It doesn't mean anything if it's not usable in real life. So we've got one here. Let's take a look at it and see if it would fit in your day-to-day life. Can you park it? Yes, you can. It's 185.8 inches long, but it does have a shorter, 104.5 inch, wheel base. It is 63.8 inches tall, 72.5 inches wide, which puts it a little longer than the BMW X1 or Audi Q3, but it is very similar in both size and shape to the Lexus NX. So inside, the interior of this A-Spec with advanced package might be kind of faking us out, but it does make it feel very light and airy. This is the orchid and blue interior combo. It's white, it's bright. It makes everything feel a lot bigger for a very small SUV. It also has this beautiful panoramic moonroof, which might end up for taller passengers being a bit of a problem. I'm five foot four though. It gives me lots of room. And also, if you are tall, the seat is 12-way adjustable power seat in this top trim version and it goes back quite a bit. So, clever storage areas can help you make the most out of a small interior, but the ADX keeps it pretty conventional. You've got a closed console storage area, which is different from one of its competitors, the BMW X1, which that one has an open space. It's great for purses but not so great for privacy. You also have kind of an odd offset cup holder situation, which you may like it, you may not. If you don't, there are also four bottle holders, one per door, plus a little extra space behind it in the front. So again, I'm five foot four. There's still a lot of leg room for me back here, 37.7 inches according to Acura, but it's pretty spacious, even for a small SUV. You've got one back pocket, which this is all upholstered. There's no scratchy plastic like on some of the competing cars. You also have something the HRV doesn't. Dropdown center cup holders. So this is clearly made with young families in mind. You have these really, really obvious latches for car seats right here on both sides of the car. And of course, we will be testing how car seats fit. So be sure to check back on cars.com for a full car seat check later. So I mentioned that there are four bottle holders in the doors in case there's not enough beverage storage, but the ones in the back really are kid-size. This is a 33.8 fluid ounce water bottle. And... Yeah, you're not gonna fit your liter of cola very secure back there. This is probably best for sippy cups or toys. So as you can see, it's pretty roomy in the back. Got this nice cargo cover for privacy and got a power lift gate, which makes it easy to get stuff in and out. I'm stuff. (grunts) (person laughs) So you do get 24.4 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats up. There's a lift over height of only 27 inches to get into this rear cargo area. And if you want the full 55.1 cubic feet of space, there is a 60/40 split bench seat, and these fold down. Acura claims you can fit two mountain bikes with the seats folded down. Now of course, the raked hatch takes a little bit of space. It's a little over a cubic foot less than you get in the BMW X1, but more than the Lexus NX. And if you wanna be extra, extra private with your cargo, there is a series of cool little bins under the floor for first aid kits, tools, contraband. Whatever you want hides right away. If this sounds like the right car for you, pay close attention in the next few months. Acura products this to start in the mid $30,000 range with more details on pricing getting released closer to its Spring 2025 release date. And of course, for more information on the ADX or anything else you wanna buy, visit cars.com/news.
