You know SUVs are all the rage, when even a super car brand like Lamborghini, has to have one. It's here and it's the all-new, Urus, a car named after an ancestor for today's fighting bulls.
Now typical of Lamborghini, the Urus, just has a lot of kind of stuff going on up here, lots of jagged edges, different areas with ventilation, kind of looks like a transformer up front here. All of that ventilation coming back here, helps to fuel what's underneath the hood. That is a four liter twin turbo V8, good for 650 horsepower, enough to get the all wheel drive Urus to 60 miles an hour, in about three and a half seconds, Lamborghini says. You get around to the side, and you can just see how long this is overall, about 201 inches long, bumper to bumper. But it's really low too, because of this sort of fast back roof line, only about 64 and a half inches high, Lamborghini says. You compare that to other, you know, kind of super car SUV's, take like the Bentley Bentayga for example, that's about as long as this Urus is, but it's several inches taller, so certainly a very low car. Come around to the back here, everything just kind of converges on the tail. Again, very busy. Lots going on here, very Lamborghini. Although, I don't really know why a lot of this, kind of detailing here, actually doesn't have any real ventilation. It's all just kind of full, if you look at it up close. Now, visibility kind of stinks looking out back, but actually there's a lot of just, really aggressive SUV's these days, with also terrible visibility. So that's not necessarily a huge detractor, plus you're in a Lamborghini, and everything in here is kind of different, just in terms of layout versus other SUV's. There is a big T-shaped dashboard here, Lamborghini says that pays tribute to its other super cars. It also pays tribute to the LM002, which is an SUV. Yes, they had one, back in the 1980s. Now you've got two screens up here. The upper screen shows a multi-media, we're told, Apple car play and Android auto will be standard, which is nice. Everyday technology, you'd get in a super car, super SUV, even wireless phone charging in this vehicle here, at the auto show. The lower screen, will have some climate controls, we're told, and that makes sense, because we've seen some new Audi models, now have this kind of two screen layout, with climate and other stuff. Audi and Lamborghini, both brands under the Volkswagen group. Now down here, you've got a lot of gear stuff going on here. This is actually the gear shift for the transmission. You can go from park all the way into drive, and reverse like so. There's a starter button, that's underneath this red switch here, to the left of that is your drive mode selector, and it wouldn't be a Lamborghini, if it wasn't all in Italian. So you've got strata, sport, corsa, and Neve. Neve being your snow mode. Now how much is all of this going to cost, and where can you get it? Neve you worry, because we have that information for you. The Urus on sale right now, orders are being taken, as we speak Lamborghini says, and it starts around $200,000. Just goes up from there. So get cracking people.
