(upbeat rock music) <v Announcer>Cars.com Auto Review. `Hi, this is Kristin with Mother Proof at the 2011 New York Auto Dhow.
Never in the history of the automobile has there been a vehicle so synonymous with both feminine and youthful design as there has been with the Volkswagen Beetle. Remember those old dash-mounted flower vases and daisy-shaped taillights? They're long gone. Volkswagen used the original Beetle from the 1930s as inspiration for this new Beetle, which is more confident, stronger, and even a little more masculine-Looking. To me, it looks like a Porsche Panamera picked up a free-spirited Beetle at a singles club and nine months later, out popped a 2012 Beetle. The sunroof in this new Beetle is 80% larger than the last one, and it also blocks out 99% of all UV rays and 92% of all heat energy, so you don't have to be concerned about too much sun exposure. Keyless entry and push button start are modern features that I refuse to live without anymore, and they're making their first appearance in the 2012 Beetle. And last but not least, one of the most usable features of all is of course, the trunk of the car. This one has expanded to 10.9 cubic feet, making it extremely functional. The Beetle's new more grown-up and less girly-girl looks will definitely appeal to a wider range of buyers. Now whether you love or hate the design, one thing's for sure. People are definitely talking about the new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle. <v Announcer>For more car-related news, go to cars.com or our blog, kickingtires.net.
