Transcript

(glass cracking) (upbeat music) I'm Mark Williams for Pickup Trucks dot com, and in our ultimate four by four shootout, we've put four stout four by fours in head-to-head competition. Next to me... is the big dog, the Ram Power Wagon.
Let's take a closer look. Our test unit for this competition is the base Power Wagon, so the ST model. It rings up just under $45,000. That gives us the V8 Hemi at three 83 horsepower, and 400 foot pounds of torque. It also has the new six speed transmission and BFG all-terrain tires. Essentially, these are about 33 inch tall tires, 10 and a half inches wide. In addition, it has bill stein shocks at all four corners. Our test unit has the old school lever operated transfer case. This four wheel drive system has a 2.72 to one low range. Front and rear axle lock switches are a rotary dial on the dash with the sway bar disconnect button light on, light off right beneath it. The power wagon sits on a Ram heavy duty chassis. So this is a three quarter ton truck with 456 axles. Among the highlights of this off-road package front and rear locking differentials, as well as a front sway bar disconnect to allow the suspension to articulate almost 25 percent more than it does when it's connected. In order to find out how well this monster four by four did in our competition, you're going to have to check out our 2012 Ultimate Four by Four Shootout and results video at pick up trucks dot com.
